Per Boston's assignment...

I stopped at the PS1 Warm Up Party on my way into the city Saturday night. With TOTH/Water Taxi Beach dead, the PS1 Warm Up is now the only time a hipster will mention Queens without making an ironic King Of Queens joke.

The Juan Maclean was spinning when I got there. Yes it is only one person, yes he is a white guy calling himself Juan, and yes he used to play in a "post-hardcore" band. He was actually good which was kind of shocking since he is signed to Brooklyn's undisputed king of overhyped hipster darling record labels, DFA.

slept on this disclosure album last year. best deep house/future garage influenced electronic music since basement jaxx, imo. makes me want to eat some pills and make some poor decisions. #hollywoodnights

fun fact: i dj'd the official suicide girls christmas party with steve aoki (the guy on the right) in 2004.

here's an old laurent garnier set that i fucking LOVED back in the days. it's his BBC essential mix from the ibiza terrace in aught five. good times.

if the DJ is good enough to have regular gigs, you get free entry to clubs w/o waiting in line, VIP, and free booze. she gets all these things already because she's famous so i can see why she doesn't understand this.
