The best part of that video (besides the sweet Fender Jazzmaster that Jerry is playing) is Elvis Costello realizing that he and his acoustic guitar will not be needed for the prototypical Skynyrd three guitar lineup on the classic I'm Goin' Down.

Showtime has The Eagles documentary (two parts). It was great. Goes through history of the band, interviews everybody. They had a lot of personality clashes and management conflicts so they delved into that quite a bit. I respected that they laid it out there and even got Geffen to talk (whom they sued and he called Don Henley "an ungrateful malcontent" it was great).

Shit, they had a lot of fucking hits.

I'm not even that big of a fan of the band and I thought that doc was fantastic. My only gripe with it is it's too heavy on the Henley/Frey perspective and makes everyone else (except Joe Walsh) look like a dick who just didn't "get it"... it would've been nice if they'd found a bit more of a middle ground.

The article isn't particularly interesting (Bowie fought with the band, not too surprising) but listen to the recording of the isolated vocals of Bowie & Mercury, very cool:

There are a TON of isolated vocal tracks on the youtube... I'm sure some of them are fake ("Rock of Ages" is horrendous but it could be legit) but there are some really cool ones on there... Gimme Shelter was probably the best one I found.

I seen Mr. Idol in concert last weekend. It was a fun 60-minute set.
