It was in reference to Frank's comments about the charts, because Hendrix didn't have much commercial success beyond "All Along the Watchtower." Because Hendrix was bad-ass, and calling him a one-hit wonder is sad.

Perhaps his individual songs didn't climb that high (but look at the competition at the time,) but Hendrix's three studio albums all charted in the top 5 in the US, with Electric Ladyland reaching #1.

no no no no no no no, The Replacements do not count as One and Done.

I agree. The charts can't be the only measure because otherwise you'd have to include the Grateful Dead and Touch of Grey.

Not just charts, but in terms of commercial success... the Dead and Hendrix crossed over to mainstream America and have sold millions upon millions of albums/t-shirts/bongs, etc. The 'Mats really had no similar amount of success.

The guy from that band was such a dick. So arrogant, so outspoken, so rebellious! Way to call out Hanson, bro. You showed them! Hate hate hated that guy and this song when it came out.

BUT, I'll be damned if I'm not singing along and turning up the volume when I hear it on the radio nowadays.

For Mario Speedwagon:

find an appropriate thread in the music section, please.

I hadn't realized that Divinyls were Australian and released a lot of material over several years until i read about the broad dying. I thought they were just another whore-fronted one hit wonder.

part one, were they big back home? did they put out anything decent or was that song their finest hour?

They were pretty big during the 80's & 90's in Australia. "I Touch Myself" was their only single that really topped the charts, but because there used to be such a vibrant live performance scene in Australia and Chrissy was so charismatic they kind of transcended the charts.

Their two other great songs were:
