Doesn't surprise me to hear that he had been dead for days, I figured one of them would go out like that. So take out a nice 1/5th of somethin good and crank "Comfortably Numb" (actually that might not be the best choice of a song right there given the situation).

[music snob] "Comfortably Numb" wasn't a Barrett Song. He'd been out of the band for over a decade by that point. [/music snob]

ETA -- I know. I'm a dick.

I wouldn't say that you are a dick at all. Syd Barrett wrote great songs. The PF of Dark Side and The Wall was a bloated mess.

Personally, I wouldn't go so far as to say they were a "bloated mess". (Well, maybe by the time The Wall rolled around. Stll, The Wall is a great album.) But they were two very, VERY different bands.

Now the post-Waters Floyd of A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell -- THAT was a bloated mess.

TDB is a guilty pleasure of mine, but Momentary Lapse sucked.

RIP, Syd.

Is Roger Waters involved? It seems like he's not.
I thought they were still fighting over the name Pink Floyd?

No.

And no, that fight ended a long time ago. Gilmour won.

TY. That's all fine with me, I always preferred Gilmour over Waters.

What is a more depressing song, Time or High Hopes?

I don't find either of them that depressing. But I guess I'll go with Time since I turned 40 this year.
