Was just listening to Number of the Beast about an hour ago.

Got Gangland in my head right now.

Also, if you listen to Maiden you must check out 3 Inches of Blood.

In particular their first (album) release: Battlecry Under the Winter Sun.

Yeah...um...I like the band Madness, too. What? That's not what this thread is about? In that case, damn, I got nothing.

Where?s the Manowar love? :)

pteaxwa, that drum intro in Gangland is killer. I love it that the album Number of the Beast now officially comes with Total Eclipse. Amazing song, for a long time, it was available only by single (who were of course, impossible to get in the second half of the 80?s) or in the Wasted Years home video (in a a live version in Hammersmith Odeon, on the beginning of the Beast on the Road tour, it was the only time they played that one live).

And Madness is cool too ONE STEP BEYOND!

Why is that Theny? Is it because they signed a record deal with their own blood while wearing their stage clothes? What?s so laughable about that? :)

Any of you guys heard of a band called "Savatage"? Saw them front row in Akron.

Hall of the Mountain King was constantly played in my apartment through college.

I saw Savatage live in a metal festival, don?t recall if it was in 96 or 98. That was after the death of one of the Oliva brothers, who started the band, the one that played guitar, IIRC. Nice concert, I love Hall of the Mountain King, the video is a pantheon piece of 80?s cheesiness, but I don?t own any of their albums though.

Never listened much to Savatage. I came into metal through thrash and death metal as a young'un, so bands like Savatage never appealed to me much. Hell, it wasn't even until my junior year of HS or so that I got into Maiden.

If anyone is interested I can upload some stuff by 3 Inches of Blood. They're former hardcore guys, so they get some criticism about being on the ironic side of things, but some of those gallops and solos are pure classic metal. I love everything I've heard by them. Apparently, they're great live too (but tour with some shitty bands).
