Umm...drink heavily, look at naked chicks, win lots of money, and don't sleep. Those are the four most important things, not necessarily in that order.

Bring a lot of money, dude.

You pretty much can't go wrong with anything you do that involves ladies, drinking, and gambling.

How long are you going to be there? What's your budget for nightly hotel expenses? How do you plan on dividing your time between gambling and strip clubs? These are important questions for your planning.

Tank, I'd agree.

I'd suggest spending less time at the tables and more time at less expensive forms of entertainment.

Try the Hard Rock Pool for instance. I heard they have a bar IN the pool.

You might also want to check out some local sporting events going on. Last time I went, my buddies and I caught a few Nike tournaments with all the Big name blue chippers and big time coaches scouts.

My favorite titty bar is Crazy Horse too. I'd suggest going at off-peak hours b/c YOU are in demand at that point (The strippers actually compet for YOU--it's a beautiful thing).

Ceasar's has the best sportsbook by far.

I have yet to find (or really look) for a good sports bar...let me know if anyone knows of one.

Rumor has it that there is a topless pool at one of the hotels...I can't remember which one but I'm pretty sure that there is an entry fee.

Remember, this is Vegas so you can walk around with open containers and actually bring drinks wherever you want...including casinos.

I'm not into buying hookers. My buddies have tried this stuff a few times but ended up spending $300 dollars for a shitty handjob from a below average looking chick. It's ironic--THEY feel used after these incidents (not the hookers).

Let us know how your trip went...

I highly suggest planning to do your gambling between 12pm -8pm. As for restauraunts.. you cant go wrong with the buffet at the Rio, but most of the good dinner spots are in the Bellagio, the Venetian, and the Mandalay Bay. I actually reccomend Mandalay's sports book.. its pretty tight.

Clubs and bars -- Baby's in the basement of the Hard Rock is tight (also the restauraunt.. the Pink Taco is excellent!). The Pool Bar is also tight there. The Center Bar is fun too, but this Hotel isn't on the strip so once you are there your kinda stuck there until you leave.

Skip Rain.. hit the Ghostbar at the Palms.

Past 4:00am you MUST go to Drai's afterhours at the Barbary Coast (on Fri/Sat/Sun).

Best Dingy gambling spot -- O'Shea's downtown. Don't be opposed to spending some time down there, its actually pretty fun Downtown in general.

As far as hookers go, a couple years back I saw two hookers (quality I won't grade b/c I was wasted) pick up a dude at the Luxor.

...remember to tip everyone well in Vegas, the city runs on Kharma. Get your cab drivers to tell you stories.

..also, remember..

No cellphones in the Sports Book. Don't be that guy.

All I do when I go to Vegas is play poker for marathon sessions, so I can't help a lot with the other stuff, but the best poker rooms in town in at the Bellagio and the Mirage. I actually prefer the Mirage because it gets a little less crowded and they have a better low-limit spread. If you're ready to play $8-$16 or higher for a while then try Bellagio.

nights = 3
cash = $3000.00
hotel = Excalibur (although I hear it's not that good)
I figure that 1000 a day will do...I hope.
as an aside I spent a weekend in Montreal once wher I didn't sleep at all and live off 3 chicken fingers, so I should be ready for the lack of sleep.

You're golden. Excalibur isn't great but it's in walking distance of some nice spots (New York New York, Luxor, Monte Carlo). The food won't be too expensive if you don't go all out in your dining options. Just make sure you have enough money for your non-gambling entertainment set aside before you hit the tables. You're going to love it.

Thanks for the help. I usually can be content with about $500.00 a day at foxwoods so I figure I should be good there with so much other stuff to do.

I love the strip, but I wrote in to pimp downtown. I was hesitant to go at first but when I did I have become a raving fan. The drinks come nonstop, the tables are cheap ($2 craps tables) and the people are a lot more down to earth. You don't have to worry about "Johnny Cool Breeze" begin around trying to impress the ladies.

DOWNTOWN
Tony Hatch
- as recorded in 1964 by Petula Clark

When you're alone and life is making you lonely
You can always go - downtown
When you've got worries, all the noise and the hurry
Seems to help, I know - downtown
Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city
Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty
How can you lose?

The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares
So go downtown, things'll be great when you're
Downtown - no finer place, for sure
Downtown - everything's waiting for you

Don't hang around and let your problems surround you
There are movie shows - downtown
Maybe you know some little places to go to
Where they never close - downtown
Just listen to the rhythm of a gentle bossa nova
You'll be dancing with him too before the night is over
Happy again

The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares
So go downtown, where all the lights are bright
Downtown - waiting for you tonight
Downtown - you're gonna be all right now

------ instrumental break ------

And you may find somebody kind to help and understand you
Someone who is just like you and needs a gentle hand to
Guide them along

So maybe I'll see you there
We can forget all our troubles, forget all our cares
So go downtown, things'll be great when you're
Downtown - don't wait a minute more
Downtown - everything's waiting for you

Downtown, downtown, downtown, downtown ...
