complete and utter sonning.

In Dan's defense no one knows how they'll react when getting shot at. even people with years of training run when faced with gunfire on instinct. but again because of his posturing as an internet bsd he deserves all the shit he's catching.

To be clear, he was in a crowd getting shot at, so he opened up his camera phone and started filming while running away.

This happened.

Someone getting shot at took the time to film themselves.

While getting shot at.

She literally lost me in the first sentence because I can't remember the last time my wife put something on the grocery list.

Is that website called simplemost.com because women are the "most simple" creatures in all of creation?

But, even though he handles certain chores, there is always me magically elfing behind the scenes—managing the stuff that makes his duties possible. I tell him what time to pick up the kids and who has what practice when. Without me, there wouldn’t be dishwasher pods or garbage bags, and there certainly wouldn’t be toothpaste for brushing, or new library books for bedtime stories.

At no point do we see mention of how there dad always is magically earning all the money that buys the dishwasher pods, garbage bags, toothpaste, etc. and the roof over their heads. No thought or concern for any of the mental load he might be carrying worrying about his job, stressing over deadlines, shitty coworkers, bosses with demands that are not always in the reasonable realm, trying to advance and increase salary to better provide for said family, worry over any sort of job loss since, again, he's the one bringing in the money. Nope, dad's just chillin'!

The burden of this self-inflicted mental load is mine. I’m the one worrying, thinking, planning. But honestly, if I did none of this, he would be fine. The kids would be happy. He might feed them donuts and nuggets and they’d dress themselves in a cacophony of colors, but the world would keep spinning.

But I return and hubs rejoices. The heavy baton of mental load passes back to me: manager in residence. Balance (or imbalance) is restored as I resume my position lying awake in bed making mental lists, and taking note of every dirty sock and empty ketchup bottle.

That, dear mamas, is why we’re all so darn tired.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting but there seems to be a disconnect because while she's noting the burden is self-inflicted, that everyone would be fine and happy if mama didn't stress herself out (needlessly), and that it's not that "men are lazy/women do everything" cliché but that women stress out way too much and need to just relax, she's still not saying, "hey women, this stress is self-inflicted, nothing bad is going to happen if you relax."

Also, "the heavy baton of mental load" can't exist if the "hubs" isn't feeling and experiencing it. Unless we're trying to say men are mentally stronger than women and can handle everything they can without all the stress and worry. In which case, lady, you need to check your privilege or something.
