Where do you live, and what are the good and bad things about living there? I know there's a best cities to live in topic, but this is different, so eat a dick.

Hood:
Stafford/Fredericksburg metro area (Virginia)

Pros:
I like the climate. 4 seasons, warm in summer, cold in winter

East coast, so close to beaches

Just outside the dickbaggery that is Northern Virginia

Cons:
Traffic. It is absurd. Especially in the summer. I'm going to go on a Michael Douglas in Falling Down style rampage one of these days after sitting in the fucking traffic around here.

Not a lot of good paying jobs around here, so most people that live here commute up to DC or Northern Virginia. That leads to my previous comment on the traffic.

It rains too fucking much.

Northern Virginia dickbaggery is creeping down this way.

Cost of living is too high when compared to the local wages. Which leads to my second point, which then leads to my first point.

Last but not least, traffic.

Hmm, not a bad topic:

DC Metro (Cleveland Park)

Pros:
Close to restaurants and the grocery store without having to deal with too much traffic
On Rock Creek Park, so decent view and Rock Creek Parkway is the secret to driving in DC.
Walking distance to the zoo, which is free and a good way to kill an afternoon.
Close to the metro
Cons
I fucking hate DC.
Too many people, too many cars, too little parking.
Everything is expensive, I pay about $3 a foot in rent.
All the downsides of a big city, none of the real upsides (not many good concerts, no phenomenal restuarants, no real city identity)... DC is a very transient city... no one spends their entire life here, which I think detracts from the overall enviroment.

Traffic? What's traffic? I walk everywhere since moving to Manhattan, maybe one of the best things about living here considering the amount of drinking that it allows.

Cons: $$$. At least I live in a neighborhood that is not $$$$.

Russellville, A

Pros:

Uhh...well, we don't have traffic issues
We have one of the few drive-ins still working in the Southeast.
We actually are partially responsible for Full Metal Jacket
We have good high school sports.

Cons:

Our main business is a chicken plant
No restaurant in town stays open past 10
The downtown area is a slum
It's fairly poor by even Alabama standards
It's a dry city in a dry county...

Greater Hartford Connecticut Suburbs

Cons:
Watching my kids get educated in the same school system that churned out Wolf and Mags
High property taxes
Downtown Hartford is only populated between 8am-5pm Mon-Fri
High unemployment
Ass-cold in winter

Pros:
It's not New Jersey

- Not so great public infrastructure (trains, buses, etc... everything is a drive)

 Gold.

Stuart, FL:

Cons:
Snowbirds driving
Snowbirds on the golf course
Snowbirds at the restaurants
Small enough town that most chicks know who I hooked up with, knocked up, dumped, etc. Though that can also be a good thing, since girl's have a sick attraction to people like me for that reason. Want to see what all the hype is about. :D
Mosquitoes
Hurricanes
Miami Dolphins, Heat, Hurricanes, Marlins, and Panthers

Pros:
Best winter weather in the country
Don't have to eat catfish because the fishing is so good
Doing all the outdoors shit year round
The beach
The chicks

Economy is relatively strong
Low crime\pollution\traffic (though not too low on crime, have to make a living)
Some decent activities in the area
Short drive from Iowa City and the advantages of a great college town
3 hours from Chicago, Twin Cities, and St Louis, so easy trip to bigger cities

Cons:
No pro sports in the area

Northwest Indiana (aka The Region {I know, gay name})

Pro's:
-Proximity to Chicagoland
-Much less expensive than living in Illinois
-Good schools (in my town, definitely not all over the area)
-Lots of good golf courses nearby.

Con's:
-My area is crammed between the ghetto of the far corner of the state (Gary, East Chicago, Hammond) the backwater rural area that stretches all the way south to Indianapolis.
-Jobs pay much less than comparable ones in Illinois/Chicago.
-Lots of snow in the winter.

Sleazeburg, VA

Cons

- Traffic fucking blows. There aren't many businesses west of DC, and even fewer west of Dulles Airport, so everybody has to drive east to be able to afford to live here.

- Cost of living is high. There's a reasonable middle class, but with the sprawl, things are getting more expensive around my way...and coming soon to D'Anny's hood.

- Tolls; taking the fastest route to work would result in my paying $4 in tolls one way. I live 26 miles from work. I think $4 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike would get me halfway across the state.

- White trash. Northern Virginia is one of the most diverse places in the nation as a whole, but in Sleazeburg, it's more West Virginia/Western Maryland/Pennsyltucky trash coming down to DC. One of the trailer park seven miles from my house is in danger of being shut down. If you notice, there's a distinction made that this is the smaller of the two parks in this town. Mind you, Lucketts isn't even a town. It's a fucking HAMLET, and they have TWO trailer parks. Anyway, these motherfuckers think Sleazeburg is "the city" and fucking congregate at the Wal-Mart by my house. Nothing worse than being an employed black man in a Wal-Mart populated by fat, white chicks with slicked back hair, wearing British Knights, cargo sweats, and black t-shirts. Well, maybe being Tiff's gynocologist, but still.

Pros

- Proximity to Washington DC
- Very good public schools
- Diverse population
- White women willing to piss off daddy

90/94 in that area needs to be a con. There are few places I'd prefer not to get stuck in traffic than that stretch of road. I hate Northwest Indiana.

Zekeriyakoy, Sariyer, Istanbul, Turkey

Pros
Quiet
Nice mix of expats and Turks
International school here
Good selection of shops/restaurants for a small town
Medical clinic with English-speaking doctors
Beatiful country/forest views
Newer houses
Great for kids/families/pets.
Close to Black Sea and its beaches

Cons
Stray dogs
Stray cows
Schools here all suck and are hideously expensive
Everything here is hideously expensive, especially with the weak dollar
Traffic. Soul-crushing traffic populated by incredibly aggressive drivers. Fuck.
Too far from airport/better restaurants/bars/attractions of Istanbul
Peyton Place revisited, as you see the same people every weekend and everybody's into everybody else's shit.
You coin contrarian bro and say shit nonsense like this.

That's terrible there. One of my ex's lived in one of those towns up in that corner, and I dreaded driving out to her parents place.
