Netflix (& Chill)

I’m on episode 3 of The End of the Fucking World. I was sold on the show when she said “sometimes I think I should just become an alcoholic. That way you always have something to do.”

Ha, I forgot about that line. She makes a great point though. I'm on episdoe 6 and I'm still entertained.

I finished the End of the F-ing world on the plane. It only runs 2.5 hours front to back. I’d vote Good Place but do give the Netflix one a rec. I thought it started better than it ended. I loved the dark absurdity of the first three episodes, then I think it’s less funny and more drama-y, but still pretty good.

You didn't ask me but I'll chime in...

I'm not certain you'll like either show, but I'd give good place the edge. The other show has annoying British accents. You're normal so I think you hate that. Then again, I still like the show and I normally hate that so what the fuck do I know?

Dark absurdity is a good description. Doesn't seem like your cup of tea, but I've been wrong before.

Good Place seems like it will be a little too... Something for you. Kooky maybe? Not sure exactly how I'd describe it, but even though I'm thoroughly enjoying it I give it only a lukewarm rec for you.

I'd go with Love Sick (formerly called Scrotal Recall)

It's about a Scottish bloke who finds out he has chlamydia and has to go around informing his former schmoopies of this fact.

They just changed Nova to a Scottish guy? Seems like he might have a good lawsuit.

Is that back on? I saw all the eps they had on Netflix a while back but forgot about this show. I'll have to go back and watch what else they've added. That was an en joyable show.

My wife haaaaaaaaated the dog episode of Black Mirror. I thought it was a nice change of pace. She was reassured by the fact it's the lowest rated episode on IMDB.

Only the Black Museum ep to go.

The dog one as definitely the worst of the season. Not a big fan, but I liked it more than it sounds like your wife did. Black Museum was awesome.

The end of Black Museum will make the dog episode better, imo.

I had no idea which ep you were talking about until I joogled it. We are talking about the black and white one, right? I liked them switching up and going gritty. One of my big complaints about that show is that the sets are always too future sterile.

Do we really think the future is going to be filled with spotless white countertops and glass walls?

Now that I'm at the end of the line, I found the IMDB scores interesting:

Season 1
National Anthem 8.0
Fifteen Million Merits 8.2
Entire History of you 8.7

Season 2
Be Right Back 8.2
White Bear 8.2
Waldo Moment 6.9
White Christmas 9.2

Season 3
Nosedive 8.3
Playtest 8.2
Shut up and Dance 8.5
San Junipero 8.8
Men Against Fire 7.8
Hated in the Nation 8.6

Season 4
USS Callister 8.4
Arkangel 7.4
Crocodile 7.3
Hang the DJ 8.9
Metalhead 6.8
Black Museum 8.8

Out of those, I'd say Hang the DJ and Hated in the Nation are the most overrated, Be Right Back is easily the most underrated to me.
