Sherlock

After perusing through the annals of the TV forum, I didn't see anything about this great BBC series.

It takes old Sherlock storylines, but transcribes them to modern-day London. For example, Sherly uses a Blackberry.

They only made three episodes this year (each 90 minutes long), and plan on making three more for release next year.
The episodes are extremely well-done, highly recommend.

This might be one of the best 5 shows or so I've ever seen. Absolutely terrific.

Surprised they got away with that one.

Enjoyable first ep. Don't know too much about the Sherlock CANON so that dude at the end was intriguing.

Agreed. I thought they did a great job with both him and Irene Adler.

Problem with the length of the episodes of this show is when I'm going to find time to actually watch them. Ideally they're the type of show I'd like to watch straight through, but I don't see that happening.

This week's might've been my favorite one yet, funny stuff. And looks like Adler's coming back next week, boing.

Aight, that might've been my favorite one they've done. This show is brilliant.

Not sure how they pull off that cliffhanger though.

they needed his one, the wedding episode was way too corny and goofy and cartoony.

Got through 2 episodes this weekend, I thought both were really well done. Agreed the wedding one was goofy but it was still funny, and I was a big fan of the bridesmaid that Sherlock was helping get laid.

Excellent final episode, excellent cliffhanger. The stuff with Sherlock & Mycroft in the yard was really good. Mycroft might have been the Most Improved Character this year to me.

I wish I was more familiar with the Holmes stories, I'm sure I miss a ton of references.

Alright, just finished this one. Agree on the kudos, but less agree on the last two episodes. The wedding one was on track to be my favorite ever, but I have trouble getting over:

Prime Bbcode Spoiler Show Prime Bbcode Spoiler:
Oh, if you're wearing a tight belt, you're not likely to realize you're getting stabbed by a 15" blade! Of course you're going to fucking notice! Also, if that's how the killed murdered the queens guard, why did he wait until he was in the shower to start bleeding? Shouldn't he have burst like a fountain when he started getting undressed?

Then the final episode was going fantastic, though it seemed a little abrupt at the end. When you've only got three episodes per season, it's tough to keep spending time at the end of the last episode to set up a cliffhanger, and time at the first episode of the next season resolving it. Only gives you one episode to actually use the whole thing without addressing the transition between seasons.

Was hoping for more Irene Adler than we got in season 3. Hopefully she gets a much bigger role in season 4. I also hear they're going to do a one-off special between now and then?
