Dumping directv in 2018. Very happy about this at the moment.

We’re replacing it with streaming, ya goof. If you want specifics, my wife already has Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, and some other bullshit I’m sure. I also just found out we’re going to pay $30 for Directv streaming. w.e.

What is youtube tv? Sounds like some bullshit.

It's like Sling I guess. Includes ESPN so that's why I'm interested. We currently do streaming services only (no live TV besides what you can get with hd antenna) and I'm always on the lookout for the cheapest way to get ESPN.

I’ve slowly started to not care about sports. First it was the MLB. Then the NBA. Chicago Bears finally broke me. Also, college football has started sucking - coaches getting paid too much, shitty shitty shitty bowls, loss of bowl traditions... I haven’t enjoyed it much this year.

I stopped watching ESPN several back with the exception of occasional games and the bears 30 for 30.

That’s been a big piece of this push - if I’m not watching sports regularly, then why have TV?

Only reason we haven't switched from PlayStation Vue to Youtube is because, I shit you not, there's no HGTV. Otherwise it basically has the same shit, ten bucks cheaper per month.

I'm the same mostly, that's why I dropped it, which had the effect of making me care even less. But I do still want to see college football, and ESPN has a pretty strong monopoly on that. I want it for literally nothing else so until it's a la carte I will probably continue to pass.

i'm kind of in the same boat, i lost alot of my interest in sports but still am keeping directv bc my building has a good deal that includes wifi which i need. for non-sports i'll put family guy or sein on while i'm eating or something, that's about it. although i'm pretty sure those are on netflix so yeah... for sports interest, i'm down to pretty much just the nfl and that's mostly bc of fantasy/gambling more than the bears. sad! not much of a point in livetv other than the redzone channel which is awesome.

I just checked YouTubeTV via google. There was also a link to directv streaming. Streaming wars i guess.

Turns out the direct tv streaming has ESPN and ESPN 2. So i’ll still have espn. :/

PlayStation Vue has four, yes four different Big Ten Network channels, which I assume appeals to lunatics like Shamgod and Angus. Although I can't see Angus slumming so low for <scoff> internet television .

Most of those are just on demand channels for like a random September Saturday when there are 5 B1G football games at 11 am.

I'm still pretty happy with Sling. I have not had any inclination to get away from it.

I low key enjoy seeing all the BIG Channels playing tOSU vs Penn State hockey. Makes it feel like they needed 40 channels.

I cancelled cable yesterday, didn't replace it with Sling or Youtube or anything. Just Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and antennas.

And my FIL's login for FSGo and Watch ESPN, which the wife did without telling me. GTs.
