Can someone tell me what Colbert's racist slur was? Googling is hard.

Reading comprehension is harder. I'll show myself out.

Not that I needed your permission, but thanks. I will continue to do so.

'you' wasn't a pronoun for your name there. substitute "could extrapolate" for "can extrapolate" if it smooths your feathers.

Now, can I get 6 or seven paragraphs defending Stephen Colbert's revolting homophobic slur on last night's "Late Night"? Thanks.

i thought it was in poor taste. :beatsme: didn't think it was necessarily homophobic.
You coin contrarian bro and say shit nonsense like this.

chrisco wrote:1. Economic inequality and long term residents being priced out of the city has been the overriding narrative of NYC for the last 5 years. If a story can be viewed through that lens, it will be.

2. School relocation/expansion/district zoning is a particularly sensitive topic under the narrative of income inequality. Park Slope has been in this debate for 5 plus years now, and its not a good look for parents who have been arguing for the status quo. These parents are typically upper income and more recent residents who have benefited the most from the changes in NYC over the last 15-20 years.

Them asking that the engine that made NYC livable for them suddenly stop because everything is just right, is unreasonable. Anyone asking NYC to stop growing in any form because they like it just the way it is should go chase windmills because they'll have a better chance against them.

3. Given 1 and 2, its nearly impossible to take the position that Bee's husband did and not come out looking wrong. No matter how it was said or the intent, the larger storylines are going to be against you.

4. For many, NYC is not the city itself but rather the collection of things in it that you value most. For most people that starts with their neighborhood and works outwards. This is especially true for parents who see a collapsing of their universe once they have kids. Its possible that Bee's husband was fully aware that he'd be put on blast no matter what, and still chose to do it because his version of NYC is more important to him than Jike's opinion in Alabama. People act in their own self interest.

2 and 3 especially in this one. The story of the Bee's school has been going on for quite a while and most people were doing a terrible job of not making it about racism. He automatically got lumped in with them and then saying don't speak to the media didnt help.

Donald Trump ruined a whole lot of things, but he single handedly saved The Colbert Show and I am grateful for that. The schtick is back and so is Colbert. Nightly appointment viewing.
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.

I'm enjoying the SJW's going all in with the "Trump is a fag, and fags are gross" jokes.

What of any of those has anything to do with homosexuality?

ETA: It's a very unfunny joke, but I'm not seeing the anti-gay aspect.

I don't think that he was being literal with "fags". I think that it was more inclusive to the entire LGQTB community.

:beatsme: but I'd say they are just listing things that are surprising.

ETA: You guys missed an opportunity to shoehorn bitching about fat shaming with the KFC one. Really slipping.
