Arrested Development

This show is the funniest since Seinfeld. If you haven't seen it, it is on Sun evenings on Fox. The first season is out on DVD and definitely worth a buy. I haven't laughed that hard in awhile (at a sitcom - if the SG is reading).

Wrong, but it's a close second. The funniest show since Seinfeld is easily The Office. As another ESPNer - Eric Neel once stated - The Office is the only sitcom to ever accomplish the "perfect run" (Even if it was only 12 episodes, and 2 Christmas specials).

I've never heard of this Office you speak of. Is there any way we can watch it?

Unfortunately, I heard that NBC is making a version of The Office. So watch the original now, before it gets tainted.

The Office

Postby Skeets » 11 Nov 2004, 15:04

"The Office" is an instant-classic British comedy about the world's worst boss (David Brent) in the world's worst paper-business office. It's absolutely hilarious. Both seasons of The Office are out on DVD, and the Bonus Christams Specials come out Nov. 16th. These are definite buys - trust me.

And yes ... sadly ... NBC is making an American version of it. Ugh.

Let's make a deal...

Postby jwill » 11 Nov 2004, 15:08

I have a gently used (japanese version) of the "Hero" that I'm willing to trade for either The Office or Arrested Development. Any takers?

Hey scumbag, I want that back. Do a friend a favor, and the next thing you know he is calling your mom a bag lady and selling your stuff on the internet.

Maybe if you had offered that to Clarett he would have kept his mouth shut.

Arrested Developement is great. Currently my favorite show on TV. Kind of like a more adult Simpsons in the style of its humor. Doens't hit you over the head with a laugh track and tell what to laugh at and when. Tons of little gags that if you're not paying attention, will fly right by. I hope it gets more of a following this year so it sticks around for a while.

Anyone know how much the first season DVD costs?

I wouldn't trade Japanese 'Hero' -- Yabu Tabuse for those. Sorry.

That classic, currency exchange joke has lost all merit thanks to our rising Canadian 'loonie'.
And yes ... our dollar is called a 'loonie'. *Sigh*

Amazon has it for $27.99 with free shipping.

I just hope Arrested Development can survive for a few more seasons. Fox has had other really good shows die due to lack of viewership, such as Andy Richter Controls the Universe. That didn't last very long, and it suffered from uneven quality, but the best episodes were as funny as any TV I've ever seen.

I think Arrested Development is too good NOT to get picked up by another network. I just pray that it's not a cable network.

Excellent logo, Frank.
