Fixed.
Balls: I know a guy who came home after high school one day to over hear his mom and dad having a 3some with another lady. He actually went to beat off during it in his room.

I thought it was only ok. My expectations were way too high.

NFLO: #LastJedi truly exceptional

I don’t know who to believe. I think I’ll trust Fran and skip this one.
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.

That's disappointing.

Is it appropriate for a 6 year old?

I'd say it was a solid B+. It was better than The Force Awakens and right on par with Return of the Jedi. Empire is still the bar to which all these movies are held. My wife commented there seemed like a lot going on at once. A couple of thoughts:

Prime Bbcode Spoiler Show Prime Bbcode Spoiler:
What was the point of the whole code breaker story line if they were just going to get sold out at the end--plus it was fruitless anyway since the resistance decided to abandon ship.

Snoke's death was unexpected. And there were way too many parallels between the Kylo/Rey interaction afterward and the Vader/Luke confrontation in Empire.

Snoke's chamber and guards were both really cool.

The whole Luke thing on the mining planet was fantastic. A twist I didn't see coming at all.

I want to say I thought Yoda was wasted but it made sense how he was used.

I wasn't really a fan of the Captain Phasma story (yet another story line wasted) so I'm glad she was killed off.

And Craig I think it's ok for a 6 year old--the Porgs were cute and to me there weren't too many harsh scenes.

It’s no worse than any other Star Wars movie violence-wise. If you are comfortable with your kids seeing episode VII this one should be fine.

I liked the Force Awakens more than The Last Jedi.

So I made the joke about dropping spoilers into the shoutbox but now that some of you have seen it:

So Leia lives? Are they just going to write the last living person from the original trilogy with a little blurb in the opening crawl in the next movie? They've already said they're not putting her in with digital effects.

They’re probably waiting to see what House of Cards does with Spacey, then they’ll just copy that.

Leia’s Force-fueled flight through the vacuum of space was probably my least favorite part of the movie. The fight between Rey/Kylo and the Praetorian Guards was my favorite.

Yeah, that whole Leia floating in space thing was a stretch even for Star Wars.

My favorite part was the Luke/Kylo standoff and resolution outside the rebel/resistance base. But the Rey/Kylo fight with the Praetorian guards was cool as well.

What would you guys go as for a Star Wars convention? I’d go as Darth Nihilus. I could see Theny going as the Gamorrean Guard.

My first thought leaving the theater was they tried to make it too funny. Star Wars has always had humor but it never seemed as forced as it is in TLJ.
Most of the jokes got laughs, but it seemed over-the-top at times. Luke's very first scene reached for a laugh - throwing the light sabre over his shoulder - and away we went. And at the end when he brushed off his shoulder it was cringe-worthy.

The Leia in space thing was indeed stupid, and even worse, it was unnecessary. I can suspend my disbelief (in this series of movies about space magic) more easily when ridiculous things are happening in service of the plot, but there was no real need to have her fly out into space like that. She could have just been injured in the attack and gone into the coma.

Similarly, the entire casino planet plot line was dumb, IMO, which was compounded by it ultimately being pointless other than a way to shoehorn Benicio del Toro into a Star Wars movie and a means to set up the very last scene of the movie. There was already so much going on in this thing that I think they could have done away with the casino planet entirely (and given Finn and the Asian chick something else to do back with the resistance ships) and the movie wouldn't have suffered at all.

And I'm not really sure how the timeline worked exactly - the movie picks up right at the end of TFA, suddenly we only have 18 hours of fuel left, and then Rey seems to go through several days and nights of Jedi training before the fuel runs out? Maybe New Dagobah Island has really short days. :beatsme:

All of that being said, I did enjoy it and think it was a worthy addition to the series. There was a lot of really cool shit and it was a fun way to spend a Friday night. It just had some issues. Maybe I'm just too old and cranky for these things anymore. I also think I'm getting Star Wars fatigue - a new movie every year kind of takes away some of the magic.

Re: Carrie Fisher and the next movie, schmoopie said they should have had Fisher and Dern trade places at the end. I think she's right but maybe that would have been too logistically difficult to do after Fisher died.
