Top 5 Lists, Movie Edition

Top 5 Lists, Movie Edition

Postby Briandong79 » 06 Feb 2012, 12:31

Top 5 movie trailers shown during the Super Bowl this year:

5. Act of Valor

I feel like this is a war movie as made by the people who make the Christian movies. Weird.
4. John Carter

So he's from Earth and he goes to Mars? And his name is John Carter, in case you missed it.
3. The Lorax

Danny Devito is awesome.
2. GI Joe Retaliation

I thought the first one was dumb but likable enough, the Rock is a fantastic choice for Roadblock, looks like it's much closer to the cartoons and the Cobra Commander uniform looks sweet. I'm genuinely excited about this one. Good choice of music too.
1. The Avengers

I'm actually less excited about this one but the trailer is better than the one for GI Joe. Lots of explosions. Scarlett is purdy.

Also, the two worst were unquestionably Battleship (seriously, why not just make Transformers 4) and the ad for the Star Wars movies coming out in 3-D, which is just yet another cash grab.

Explain Battleship to me, because I thought I watched 50% of the same CGI when I saw the trailer for Transformers 3. Is it the same people making it? Same bad guys? Blantant recycling of effects? I was confused about that one.

Yeah, that's the one I remember most from the Super Bowl.

Fun fact: The only SBC movie I've ever seen is Talladega Nights. He strikes me as funny but I've never made an effort to see his movies. No idea why. I'm sure I'll miss this one too.

Bruno was awesome. I would suggest not watching it with a judgmental cunt who will look down on you for getting into the movie and enjoying yourself for a little while. (this didnt happen. I saw it alone in the theater, and it was tremendous. I just know how it would have gone if I had watched it with a certain species.)
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.

Bruno was alright, but there was just too much penis. I would put Borat considerably ahead of it when comparing the two.

I couldn't finish Bruno, I just didn't like it. I liked Borat.

I didn't actually see the commercial for The Dictator and so therefore didn't know it aired, so there you go.

I only caught part of Bruno because it was on recently. I thought it was hilarious. Cannot wait for The Dictator.

Also just found out that my parents saw and loved Borat and Bruno. Really?

I enjoyed both Borat and Bruno, although, like most people, I thought Borat was the better of the two. I think the Dictator will be good, if more conventional. Definitely a lot of potential. I was never a big Ali G fan, however.

Top 5 James Bonds:
5. Roger Moore-never convincing as someone who could kick your ass, too comical
4. Timothy Dalton-2nd closest tonally to Fleming's Band
3. Pierce Brosnan-screwed over by less than stellar scripts after Goldeneye
2. Daniel Craig-what blond hair, blue-eyed controversy?
1. Sean Connery-was so awesome, Fleming wrote in that Bond was part Scottish

The Broccolis did him no favors casting a model to follow up Sean Connery. He needed a couple practice movies to warm up with before this. He could easily take Roger Moore's spot on my top 5, not a Moore fan.
