Those d'Abo sisters were pretty smokin' back in the day. Wasn't one of them in one of the 80s Bond movies?

Yes, Maryam d'Abo was in the Bond abortion "The Living Daylights". Fuck you Timothy Dalton!

Turns out the d'Abo chicks aren't sisters...they're cousins.

Those Dalton Bonds were easily the worst, but that last Brosnan one gave those two Dalton shitfests a run for their money.

I still haven't seen the last Brosnan one or Casino Royale. I used to consider myself a huge Bond fan, but I guess I turned meh on the matter. I do want to see Casino Royale sometime though.

Casino Royale was fantastic. I didn't mind Brosnan, but he wasn't great. I think Royale is as good as some of the Connery flicks.

Agreed on Casino Royale. I would rank it up there with Thunderball or From Russia With Love, which are two of my favorites. Brosnan's first was great, probably a top fiver for me, but each of his got progressively less interesting. The last one was just abysmal: Brosnan seemed to go through the motions, and the plot was as hokey as something from the Roger Moore films. Only difference, it wasn't meant to be campy like the Moore movies.

Daniel Craig is off to a good start with Casino Royale. I like the two Connery films mentioned above, but I'm also partial to Goldfinger. I mean, where else can you get a character named Pussy Galore? I always liked the 70s Roger Moore Bond films as well. If I had to rank the Bonds:

1. Connery
2. Moore
3. Brosnan
4. Craig (only here because of small sample size)
5. Lazenby
6. Dalton

With the disclaimer that I haven't seen the last two movies, I'd rate the bond movies this way...

Best 3:
1) Goldfinger
2) Thunderball
3) You Only Live Twice

Worst 3:
1) Moonraker
2) Licence to Kill
3) The Living Daylights

CourtesyFlush, I agree with your rankings except I have to give Craig an incomplete since I haven't seen his Bond yet.

Moonraker...hahaha. That one was the worst...trying to incorporate the Space Shuttle into a Bond movie. I've always been kinda partial to Diamonds are Forever as well. It had Bambi, Thumper, Plenty O'Toole, and Jill St. John...quite the spread there. Plus, it had the Jimmy Dean sausage guy.

Diamonds Are Forever received consideration for the #3 spot, but #1 and #2 are solidly entrenched on my list. As for the worst Moonraker has it by a landslide, but the two Daltons and The World Is Not Enough had to duke it out for the bottom.

I agree with your point about the early Moore ones being pretty good. Live & Let Die, The Man With the Golden Gun, and The Spy Who Loved Me were all worthy Bond flicks. Of course then Moonraker completely sucked, For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy were good but not great, and A View to a Kill was a meh-minus.

Diamonds are Forever was the Mr. Wind/Mr. Kidd one in Las Vegas, right?

I'd have to go Top 3:

1. Thunderball
2. From Russia With Love
3. Casino Royale

Bottom 3:

1. Living Daylights
2. Moonraker
3. Die Another Day

I loved all the Connery ones except for the abortion Never Say Never Again, which isn't a real Bond movie IMO. (It's the Rocky V of the Bond world... never happened.)

Understanding that I liked all the Connery movies so even the bottom of this list gets high marks, I'd rank them...

1) Goldfinger
2) Thunderball
3) You Only Live Twice
4) Diamonds Are Forever
5) From Russia With Love
6) Dr. No

Underrated Bond flick: On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Rarely gets brought up since many discussions revolve around "who's the best Bond" and Lazenby obviously only appeared in one flick, but still one of the best in the series.

I'm with you on Goldfinger as #1, but I agree with Bricks that From Russia With Love is a good movie and deserves top 3 consideration. I'd put it this way for Connery Movies:

1. Goldfinger
2. Diamonds Are Forever
3. From Russia With Love
4. You Only Live Twice
5. Dr. No
6. Thunderball

The Roger Moore movies always had these things in common: Q and his wacky gadgets, the sexual tension with Moneypenny, and Jaws as a henchman/villian. I hope Jaws pops up in one of Daniel Craig's movies...that would be awesome.

I've got no problem with that list except for Thunderball. I think it's one of the all-time greats. From Russia With Love is great, but it runs a little long and has a couple dead spots in it, so that's why it gets demoted to 3.5 stars instead of 4 for me. I'm not taking anything away from it though, since I'd rather watch it 50 times than watch the opening credits to either of the Dalton movies.

Jaws was only in two movies, wasn't he? There was The Spy Who Loved Me when he was just a beast, then there was Moonraker when he was able to survive falls out of planes without a parachute and fell in love with a geeky girl on the space shuttle. Booooooo Moonraker booooooo!!!
