The Departed

The Departed

Postby Tremendous_sidePotential » 22 Oct 2006, 12:06

I thought it lived up to the hype and then some. Great performances all around. I thought Martin Sheen had one of the best performances in the movie. Music was outstanding, which is something Scorsese always seems to do well in his movies.

I found it kind of odd that out of all the actors, Marky Mark was the only one with an over the top boston accent.

If this film doesn't clean house at the Oscars the way LOTR did a few years ago, we should charge Hollywood and electroshock everyone.

This movie is excellent. Scorsese and Nicholson should definitely get Oscar noms (echo echo echo....)

There are a lot of topics to explore but there are bound to be spoilers for those who haven't seen it so be careful.

Although I haven't seen it, from the previews I've seen he sounds like he does in person. I don't think you can have an over the top accent when you are speaking normally.

Marky Mark's best role was in Four Brothers.

Damn straight. And, the black guy wore a Chelios jersey, further enhancing the film. A home jersey no less, the far superior white version.

Just like Detroit, just like Detroit. It was one of the brothers (of the four)who wore the Cheli jersey.

And to get this back on topic, The Departed was a most excellent film.

You're the one that took it off topic, fuckass!

Great movie. I believe Larry Flint would rate it "Fully Erect".
Nicholson was excellent although I don't think he had to act too much, he always seemed like a crazy fucker to me.
Ballz: So, I fucking got a BJ for $250 total, and wore a rubber. It sucked, I couldnt even feel it, so i jeckyled onto her tits. She was cute. Not even that far out of my league, it was a waste of $250

BostonSucksMyBalls - Fri Aug 12, 2016 11:42 am: my disdain for 66 stems from posters saying how great a poster he was. I never saw it. He has never made an interesting post or comment, imo.

Best roles were Marky Mark and Nicholson's #2 man, Mr. French. That guy was beautiful.
