Movies You've Seen Recently

i just watched hot tub time machine, and i may have enjoyed it more than the hangover. i need to see it one more time to be sure. in any case, highly enjoyable. the music was outstanding.

also, i went to an advance screening of a movie called "The Extra Man" last weekend, with kevin kline, paul dano, john c reilly and katie holmes. its about a mondern day "dandy" who dates old ass women in new york city (like 80 and 90 year olds) who takes on a roomate (Dano) who is trying to make it in new york. kline was awesome as always, dano was decent as the lead/observer. i believed katie holmes as the chick in the office. give this one a solid meh. it had some continuity issues, like it taking place today despite no one using the internet.. and him working at a "booming" environmental magazine. they should have set this movie back in the 90s.

solid meh.

I also watched hot tub time machine last week. I thought it was gonna be dumb, but yeah....funniest movie I've seen in a long time. Definitely funnier than The Hangover, IMO.

I watched it as well and really enjoyed it. I liked how Craig Robinson's character starred into the camera after saying, "It must be a Hot Tub Time Machine." I always hate when the title of a movie is said in an obvious way in the movie, (Prime example: Nic Cage saying he wants to take Travolta's Face...Off) so appreciated doing it in a funny way.

Oh yes, Inception is the tits.

So, of those who have seen it, informal poll of who thinks he's in and who thinks he's out? After mentioning the purpose of the totem, I don't think there is one time that when Cobb spins his he actually lets it fall so... I would certainly be up for a sequel that involves either a) getting him out of wherever he is, or b) whatever the hell Nolan can come up with, he's awesome.

'the client list', aka an excuse to show jennifer love hewitt in lingerie for 2 hours...an awful movie made for lifetime about JLH as a suburban wife/mother who becomes a whore after her husband gets laid off...her rack was prominently displayed for the entire two hours, which was worth the price of admission for me, but i simply lost it at the end...all the town wives storm up to her house, and you think they're going to lynch her for boning all their husbands, but what they really want to know is what she did and how can they please their husbands like she did...the film simply lost all credibility at that point for me

Inception was a great idea with great acting (especially Page and Couitllard and the kid from 3rd Rock from the Sun - that is his name.) and great visuals that falls way, way short of being a great movie. Doing too much, all over the place.

Cyrus with John C Reilly and Jonah Hill.

YIKES. There was some awkward stuff, which was good. But this movie was borderline atrocious.

I agree. You could see that ending coming a mile away. It felt too much like "hey, this is a cool original mindfuck movie, just like all the other cool original mindfuck movies."

He's in a dream. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense because the children are the exact same age at the end of the movie as they are in his memory in the beginning. There's no way the children would be the same age after all that time. BOOM

Good movie. Had the good things of a thriller-- violence, profanity, and a decent storyline. I think the secret tunnel was a really big copout, but other than that, it was solid.

Dinner For Schmucks. 4/5.

Jermaine is great, Zack G wasn't half bad, and Carell can't not be funny.

Inception fucking rocked. Definitely the best movie I've seen this year. Easily.

He's in the dream. I think CLIT had it. When he talked to his daughter, she sounded a lot older in the beginning of the movie. How long does that thing spin for anyway. So did the Japanese guy get out or is he in there, too? I would assume he dreamt meeting him and getting him out and everything.

Interview with Inception's costume designer. Pretty interesting and then there's this lil tidbit:
Prime Bbcode Spoiler Show Prime Bbcode Spoiler:
COF: How much does costume reflect the inner machinations of the plot, particularly in a film such as Inception? For example, Cobb’s children are wearing the same clothes at the end of the story as they are in his dream ‘memory’ throughout the film. Is there something to be interpreted here?

JK: Costume design reflects greatly on the movement of the plot, most significantly through character development. Character development is at the forefront of costume design. The characters move the story along and with the director and the actor the costume designer helps to set the film’s emotional tone in a visual way. In a more physical sense the costumes’ style and color help to keep the story on track, keeping a check on time and place.

On to the second part of your question, the children’s clothing is different in the final scene… look again…

so, BOOM!

I saw it and wasn't a big fan. Jermaine was hilarious, everything else fell flat to me.
I always used to get Paul Rudd and Ron Livingston confused, so if I ever watch this movie drunk I will be endlessly confused by them being in the same movie.
