It is insane that the expansion fee in 2000 when Columbus and Minnesota joined was $80 million and it is now going to be $500 million

Of course they won't pick the name Aces even though it would be a great name, especially if they are in the same division as the Kings.

Expanding to Vegas seems like a great idea. I would think they are relying on a good chunk of attendance to come from out of town vacationers. Make sense. I can see people going to Vegas to go watch hockey. Theres really nothing else to do there, and the weather usually sucks.
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.

While I am on record as being for "Outlaws," "Aces" would be great and will never be used.

I'm expecting them to be the Vegans, or maybe the Oasis. If they're smart, they'll go with the Emperors and try to get a sponsorship deal with Caesar's Palace.

My friend in Vegas, Frank knows who I mean, says he wants it to be "Posse" which I tend to support. I'd personally go with "Rattlers"

Might be tough to do since they will be playing in an arena owned by MGM.

Well darn.

Then I'd put money on the Las Vegas Lions.

Vegas Lions it is.

I wonder how this will work. Jim Haslet apparently was involved in some group trying to bring the NFL there years ago. His job was to get all the casinos on board. He met with them to have them agree to buy 10 season tickets, it might have been a 100, each. His pitch was that the casinos could give them to their best customers. The casino people were like, "No, we don't want our customers leaving the property"

There's only one Las Vegas Posse. The CFL one. Apparently legendary soul singer Curtis Mayfield once played for them.
