Clayton Bigsby - Mon Nov 22, 2010 12:02 pm: PornoGil: Random thoughts, NHL. I give blackhawks "fans" a lot of shit about liking the team all of a sudden now that they're good. As fan of a team Simmons says is in a similar situation, which is why he abandoned them, please either defend or attack the hawks fans, depending on how you feel about them

As usual with the NHL, I can only really speak about the Bruins situation. Their current situation reminds me of the first great Sein ep, "The Revenge", in which George quits his job, realizes his mistake, then tries to go in the next day and pretend it never happened. There are plenty of people around here, like Simmons, who gave up on the team because of the owner, then saw them become a really fun team the past few years, and are now pretending that they never swore off the B's as long as Jacobs was in charge. Say what you will about that sack of shit k0k0, but at least he's had the dignity to not do this.

As for the Hawks, I realize that the owner that Chicagoans hated croaked or some shit, but still, it's kind of awkward in that their turnaround from cellar-dweller to champs was so quick that people were rooting for a team/players that they couldn't care less about 2 years earlier.

Basically, I don't mind people who choose to stop attending games/buying merchandise because they dislike the owner... perfectly understandable... but no matter what, it's still really lame to suddenly root hard for a team you didn't care about the year before, no matter what the reason.

Im not particularly knowledgable on the Bruins fans and how they are/were treated....theres plenty of information available Im sure on the tv blackouts...the utter apathy and hell disregard toward franchise legends and such so...forgive us as fans for not giving a fuck for a decade plus. His son gives a shit...puts some effort into it and its back...I guess in 92 woulda been ridiculous to like them as the Penguins throttled them right?

It seems almost pointless at this juncture to complain about the refereeing re:Crosby but holy shit. Tonight he slew footed Ryan Callahan in plain view in the neutral zone and they whistle Callahan for interference. That's a fineable offense and he DRAWS a call in an away game.

On a semi-related note, I recently discovered that Terry Greggson is director of reffing for the NHL. I might be crazy/mixing him up with someone, but I remember him being at the absolute bottom of the officiating barrel.

Yeah, but him and Colin Campbell are probably e-mail buddies.

(The Campbell thing not blowing up completely is a pretty sad indicator of the NHL's place in things these days.)

the opportunity cost of knowing how to preheat an oven is pretty puny compared to anything else

Anyone watching HBO Sports' 24/7 Penguins/Capitals: Road to the NHL Winter Classic?

I realize I'm a faux hockey fan who only gets into it every 4 years during the olympics but I liked this. Interesting behind the scenes look at both teams. If you have HBO or download torrents, I recommend this.
Ballz: So, I fucking got a BJ for $250 total, and wore a rubber. It sucked, I couldnt even feel it, so i jeckyled onto her tits. She was cute. Not even that far out of my league, it was a waste of $250

Solid solid first two episodes. I guess I never really knew that when they fight, they ask first. Do you want your helmet on or off was a weird question to ask Crosby before a fight.

Remember when people got upset over Rex Ryan's language on Hard Knocks? Rex has NOTHING on Boudreau or whatever the Caps coach's name is.

Every other word is "fucking" this, or "fucking" that. It's great.

That was pretty cool to see Lemieux skate for the first time in 5 years. Fucker was 50% efforting and just clowning those former players

Ha im watching this now.....you are not really exagerrating.....Ive heard like 12 fucks in about 45 seconds from him. Its cool that the narrator from Hard Knocks does this show too.
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.
