Balls: I know a guy who came home after high school one day to over hear his mom and dad having a 3some with another lady. He actually went to beat off during it in his room.

I think Frank would be ok with this outcome.

This team just got sold by Karmanos. Frank knows who I mean.

Karmanos selling the team takes the edge off the hate, but I still do not root for the Hurricanes.

ETA: I see that Karmanos sold the majority stake, but still is a minority owner. Ergo, fuck the Hurricanes.

Yup. Deadspin and ESPN have been running the story too.

If I was in charge of how to resolve this issue (and I’m not, but I definitely should be), I’d let the Hurricanes use the logo in game in exchange for three regular-season games and one pre-season game at the XL center.

that sounds like a good solution. Would Charlotte even care if the Hurricanes left? Flush?

This is Hartford’s only hope for a better hockey environment (not even necessarily an NHL team). The XL Center badly needs renovated, but there’s no money for it. I can understand when all we’ve got right now is the Rangers’ AHL affiliate and UConn. 8k of the 16k seats are curtained off for every hockey game. But if Hartford was given a manageable number of NHL games, and sold them out, that might unstick some of the funding to bring that building into the 21st century. Then, even if the NHL never comes knocking (and let’s be honest, it won’t) there’s a building that would be a draw that downtown desperately needs, and would serve UConn much better than it does now.

Really, I thought they moved. I guess Raleigh would care even less about hockey.

Correct--they moved from Hartford to Raleigh. Do you even sports?

Frank--a timeshare agreement would be a wonderful nod to the franchise's history and reaffirm a fan base in a separate geographic area than the current footprint. I wonder if television rights have anything to do with that never getting off the ground (because I'm almost certain it wouldn't).
