Top 10 Hockey Players of All Time

Top 10 Hockey Players of All Time

Postby Snake » 29 May 2005, 14:03

Note: This was originally started as a sidebar about whether or not loons were an interesting topic. Now that there's some actual hockey discussion I thought it should be moved to the NHL forum. -FTT

1. Wayne Gretzky
2. Gordie Howe
3. Bobby Orr
4. Mario Lemieux
5. Rocket Richard
6. Jaromir Jagr
7. Dominik Hasek
8. Steve Yzerman
9. Jacques Plante
10. Ray Borque

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Clearly you missed my point. 10 greatest players might be played out, but even that's more interesting than the breeding habits of the North American loon.

there isn't one Leaf up there. You must die.

No it's a pretty good list, but Plante is too high, and Jean Beliveau(as much as I HATE the Canadiens) he deserves to be there. Fo sho.

Where is Patrick Roy? The all time leader in wins in regular seasons and playoffs should be there too.

Ouch. I really didn't mean to start a discussion on hockey players and that list was nothing more than the first 10 hockey players I could name. But you're welcome to have the discussion I guess.

Wayne Gretzky had three parts to his career: the oiler years, the kings years, and the washed up old guy with the rangers years.

1) Wayne Gretzky-oiler years
2) Wayne Gretzky-kings years
3) Wayne Gretzky-old years
4) Gordie Howe
5) Mario Lemiuex
6) Bobby Orr
7) Ray Borque
8) Patrick Roy
9) Rocket Richard (my dad tells me when he was living in montreal he saw the rocket play, so he thinks hes the best player ever. naturally, hes wrong.)
10) Nicklas Lidstrom
Ultimate Frisbee record: 1-1
Back on track son.

Simply put, no way Wayne Gretzky the old guy years was better than Lemieux or Howe.

Rangers Gretzky wasn't that good.

And neither was Patrick Roy. With his amazing "growth", thanks to illegal equipment over the years.
