UTAH JAZZ 38.5

Rough off season for the Jazz. They overpaid for Joe Ingles and traded for Rubio in an effort to keep Gordon Hayward in his free agent year, but the bright lights of Boston were too much and Hayward signed there.

This owner:

Image

closed the presentation with, "Gordon will you stay with us? You know how important you are to our organization."

Hayward, was like, "Uhhh, I need some time"

If the Jazz can't keep Gordon Hayward, they will never keep any key free agent. Should probably fold the franchise and move it to Seattle.

anyway, starting line up

PG Rubio
SG Joe Ingles
SF Rodney Hood
PF Favors
C Rudy Gobert

Not awful, but to score enough they need Rodney Hood to make the leap, and Favors to be a more consistent scorer.

Bench

Joe Johnson, Donovan MItchell, Jonas Jerebko, Joel Bolomboy, Aleck Burkx, Raul Neto, Thabo Sefolosha.

Uggh, that is ugly. Donvovan Mitchell is a rookie out of Louisville that tore up summer league. Probably tore up some prostitutes in college as well.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Ok.

Key Additions:
George, Paul; Anthony, Carmelo; Patterson, Patrick; Felton, Raymond; Ferguson, Terrance

Key Departures:
Sabonis, Domas; Oladipo, Victor; Kanter, Enes; McDermott, Doug; Gibson, Taj

Projected Starting Line-up
Westbrook
Roberson
George
Anthony
Adams

Key Reserves
Patterson, Abrines, Felton, Jerami Grant

Obviously this team has scoring; defensive issues will be significant; the shittiness of Roberson's offensive game will be obvious; big man depth is extremely limited. I don't think Westbrook will have issues sharing the ball, given that he grew up sharing the ball with a pair of volume scorers in Durant and Harden. I do think that 53 wins is probably going to be a stretch but they get it. If Billy Donovan can massage egos, keep one of the main three guys on the court most of the time, develop a couple of the young guys (Abrines, Grant, Ferguson, Huestis) into a reliable bench contributor, and maintain a defensive identity this team finishes third or fourth in the West, depending on how Houston gells and if San Antonio can continue on their path.

As a fan, I look forward to seeing how the bench guys fill out. Abrines is fragile but really fun to watch and clearly has a green light to shoot from anywhere, Grant is a gangly deer who can run and shoot the three but seems more like a basketball retard every time I watch him play, and Ferguson has gotten a lot more minutes than I expected in the preseason. I'm pretty sure George, Westbrook, and Anthony will figure out how to coexist offensively pretty quickly. Anthony has said all the right things thus far - maybe he pulls it together for a good three year run or something. Who knows.

Sixers 40.5

We got Embiid (for how many games who knows?) and a rookie back court that can’t shoot.

Team looks something like this...

PG: Simmons, McDonnell
SG: Fultz, Redick, Bayless
SF: Covington, Anderson
PF: Saric, Johnson, Holmes
c: Dad, Jah Okafor

And underrated subplot this year is the exodus of stars from the East. I believe that the Sixers can win fifty games if Joel plays over 65 games this year. However, I think they will win in the high 30s with Joel missing many games.
I’m gonna go over!
It feels so good to be back.

I think if I had to bet one of them with a gun to my head, it'd be the Rockets Over.

Coach Bud though! I guess that's a thing.

FYI, the Lakers have zero incentive to tank this year, they'll put in some work.

I like the OVER on the Miami Heat, with the major caveat of Waiters staying healthy. He said the other day the ankle injury that ended his season last year is STILL hurting. Yikes.
