Basketball: The Gathering (The Analytics Thread)

You're right, only a league pass goon would be touting the merits of an obscure player like Dwight Howard.

Howard can actually score in the low post a bit, and is devastating on the pick and roll, but he's definitely a black hole and not a good passer like Gasol/Noah. But in no universe is he not a better player than them, even when he was hurt on the lakers, he was still averaging 18/13 or something. And in no universe should Marc Gasol win DPOY. I still can't believe that happened.

LeBron passes MJ in VORP. I'm not saying that makes him better, so please don't attack me, just an interesting read for those into analytics.

why did nobody make their 2's or free throws in the early 2000s? surely Shaq and Ben Wallace couldn't make that kind of a dent

You would think after all those Celtics rings you wouldn't be bitter about one playoff series in like 1991, but you and Billy refuse to be deterred. It's admirable really.

Where is Embiid? HE is averaging 2.5 BPG in like 25 minutes. Jerk.
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.
