First of all, I would argue the Stoudamire signing, at the time, was better than Horford. Horford is the best free agent (in the player's prime) signing the Celtics have ever made, no question. But that's like being the smartest guy on a Bill Simmons messageboard. Bar's set pretty low. And excuse me if I use what I know from, you know, watching him play basketball, particularly in the playoffs, to base my theory that he's a good player, but he isn't getting us any further than the conference semis. He was signed with the hopes of enticing Durant to come here.

About fucking time an Atlanta team held on against a furious rally versus a Boston team.

I'm 52% over it, I swear.

My sources indicate the Cavs are gonna rest guys tonight in Miami (scared bitches) and give up pursuit of the 1 seed. Congrats Boston!

I still can't believe they let Atlanta come back from down 26 in the 4th quarter.

When's the last time a healthy #1 seed lost to an 8 seed? Denver over Seattle?

Warriors/Mavs? I remember the Spurs losing to Memphis recently, but they might've been a 2 seed.

Yeah, the Mavs lossed to the Warriors. The more important question is the last 14 seed to win a first round series? Take the Sixx Dawgs this year, free money!

Memphis was the 8 in 2011.

Even when the Spurs lose as a 1 seed no one cared. Sad!

Well, this is the best case scenario for my Celtics. We get a joke of a Bulls team, then potentially Washington and then Toronto in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Let's not get silly here. Boston is not the best team in the Eastern Conference. The league will do what it can to make Cleveland/Golden State III happen, I understand that. But this is a good building block and will likely generate enough buzz throughout the league, especially with another high draft pick, that will attract the upper echelon of free agents like Gordon Hayward for next year and beyond. It's all very exciting!

Umm, don't you know that those chicken-hearted [insert "Warriors" or "Cavaliers" here] will lose before the finals because they KNOW they will lose to the other and are scared???
mister bacon love watching soccer. baseball is about as exciting as scratching my balls.
