wasn't a fan of Dusty as an in-game manager. king of the clubhouse, players loved him, but a middling to lousy decision maker in games.

problems is it's hard to see who out there would be better, particularly to get them over the hump to the world series, and this team has a history of not wanting to pay market for managers. of the potential names out there i would probably go for dave martinez, but what the hell do i know.
