I'm 100% in favor of honoring the guy any way you want, and if they choose to do that with all wearing the same jersey, then that's cool I guess. But I definitely agree that it can get confusing at times when the whole team has the same number. Probably less so than in other sports though. It's not like guys are swapping positions all the time and stuff, so it shouldn't be TOO hard to keep track of who's who.

"We're doing a double switch."
"Let me pull out my lineup card. Okay, go ahead."
"We've got number 16 coming in to pitch, batting in the 2nd spot. New shortsop is number 16, he'll be hitting 9th. The old pitcher, number 16, and old shortstop, 16, come out. Got all that?"

This is why we can't have nice things.

As I said they're free to do whatever they want. I just think the everybody wears the same jersey number is a suboptimal way to do it. If you want to hate me more I dislike it on Jackie Robinson day as well. Does putting his number on everyone's back honor him more than painting the number on the field and giving everyone a big patch and a hat with a memorial logo? I say no. #sns

to me, the big pile of crying 16's coming out to congratulate the crying 16 who hit a home run (his first!) for the dead 16 on the first AB of the first game since 16 died is fucking incredible and i don't give a fuck about proper scoring of a Mets/'Lins tilt in late September. but that's just me.

That was a great moment, neither enhanced nor impaired by all players wearing 16.

Is there anything to the rumor that he faked his death and is living in Mexico under the name Pat Kim?
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.

They should invent easier ways for people to know the players. Like, maybe each club could install a giant TV where they could show close ups of things happening on the field and use graphics (or something futuristic) to indicate which player did what. I know that I'm just being a dreamer here, but it'd also be cool if they could show stats and stuff.

For the people at home? Maybe the guys running the television could jump on that as well by having players' names appear on the screen.

So hard to figure out what is happening.

Kit, I don't think we'll ever see eye to eye on the Peyton v. Brady argument, buy I 100% agree with you here.
