And right after you post this, my Tribe pounds the Royals for 19 runs. Just another day.

The Royals' pitching must absolutely suck because they seemed to have a lot of good bats in their line-up. Mostly youngish guys too. If their minor league pitching prospects come good they could jump into the mix in the den of mediocrity that is the AL Central in a hurry.

if im cooking frozen pizza in the oven, how long should i preheat it. box says preheat to 375F but for how long?

the opportunity cost of knowing how to preheat an oven is pretty puny compared to anything else

Throw him on the pile, the Royals signed Bubba Starling away from Nebraska:
http://www.kansascity.com/2011/08/15/30 ... oyals.html

To me, this is almost always a no-brainer, there have been so many minor leaguers who have gone back to play at college that its fairly low risk. Best case scenario, you're Joe Mauer, worse case, you still end up probably starting somewhere in college and have a few million in your pocket.

And you'd be coming in after a few years of serious physical training as well. Only downside is if you're actually NFL quality you're losing a few years.

And it is now standard in these deals to have your college paid for by the MLB team, so a college football team would not have to use a football scholarship on such a player.

with the guaranteed portion of that contract he wouldn't need a scholarship. if he attends classes in the off-season his eligibility clock starts ticking, doesn't it?

It's hard to believe it's already been 9 years since Mike Sweeney's magical 2003 season:

It was a pitch-out. He didn't need to watch.
