One time I waited outside a woman's house for five days just to show her how serious I was about wanting to drill her. Turns out, it was the wrong house. She loved the story anyway. We got to third base. Over the pants.

Bay, 34, is hitting .204/.298/.393 with 11 homers and 20 RBI. Being designated for assignment is yet another setback in what was once a great career. He was an All-Star in 2009 for the Red Sox -- his third time being an All-Star.

Can't just say 3-time all star. Got it.

the opportunity cost of knowing how to preheat an oven is pretty puny compared to anything else

My 2 cents:

I think Jason Bay can still be a serviceable player in the right situation. To wit: there are still several teams that could be in the market for a power hitting fourth outfielder, surely he can catch on with an NL West team. You also have to take into account the cavernous landscape of Safeco he just escaped. Sometimes all your really need is a change of scenery and you're right back in the game. Remember, David Ortiz was mere days away from being released from the Boston Red Sox before he got back on the sauce found his stroke.

I look forward to watching Bay's next move.

Good point. Nelly Cruz is bout to be suspended for the year, and my sources tell me the ball really starts to fly out of that bandbox when the weather heats up. Could be a natural fit.

A few gems from his wiki page:

3rd all-time in Home Runs hit by a Canadian born player behind Larry Walker (383) and Matt Stairs (260)
3-time Tip O'Neill Award winner as the best Canadian baseball player
Represented Canada at the World Baseball Classic
Represented Canada in the 1990 Little League World Series
Represented Canada at the 2005 Home Run Derby

He was actually alright. They just needed to activate Morse in time to try and trade him.

Safeco's not that bad with the fences moved in now.

I saw that the M's were first or second in HRs recently. I found that shocking. I really wanted the Tribe to get Morse.

Where does Jason Bay rank on the list of Canada's greatest athletes?

I'm guessing 1 & 2 are Iron Mike Sharpe and Larry Walker.
