ok, see you

But 5 years?

No trade is only to CA I thought, he has an opt out in 3 years. Chapman is still young so should be ok for the duration.

He'll be 33 at the end, fastball relievers tend to fall off around 30, and that's if his Cuban age is accurate.

I don't think it's a bad signing, god knows the Yankees have the money, but I wonder how much they were bidding against themselves.

At least they didn't have to go to $100 million like was first reported.

Plus he's a really solid guy.

loljk, he's gonna be great as your closer in 2019 when you have Machado and Harper in the lineup, with Kershaw as the ace.

......and Ellsbury hitting 9th.

I know this is said in semi-jest but whatever, why would Kershaw be there?

Here's the list of free agents that winter.

ETA:

Cuban years is definitely a red flag but if drops from 103 to 98 that's still pretty good. Supposedly Marlins offered $1M more but wouldn't give a no trade clause.

Twitter was all over the fact that he has a no trade to CA and they have the toughest domestic abuse laws.

Trust me, Chapman at 98 is not nearly as fun.

Ah, didn't realize he had an opt out, either way, doubt he does if he keeps having DL trips/back issues.

And too soon gargs ;)

LOL at Heyward opting out. I honestly don't think he'd get half of what he got.

That is a very solid list of free agents.

Yay Hot Stove.

I had to look him up. Chris Carter? Never heard of him. What a sport!

At first I was interested in trading for him as I probably need a replacement for Napoli, but he strikes out a lot and hits for a really low average which affects his OBP. I think I will pass. #rallytogether, #tpt, #theny

Chris Carter is the modern day Dave Kingman, only seemingly a better human.

Yankees signed him for $3 million.
