4 months and counting...your Chicago Cubs

Postby Dr Jeckyll » 26 Jan 2006, 19:22

I noticed there is not a Chicago Cubs thread on here, so I thought I'd create one. These are tough times to be a Cubs fan with the lack of likable players, the continuing presence of Dusty Baker/Jim Hendry, the lack of Steve Stone, all the crap we are receiving from White Sox fans, the depressing downward spiral of Kerry Wood's career, etc. and to be honest, i'm not very hopeful for this year at all. still, this will be a thread where anything cubs related can be discussed. I might be the only Cubs fan on this board, so if you just want to come here and make fun of me for being a fan of a team that has gone 98 years without a championship, that is okay too.

Least you guys got rid of Sammy Sosa, that counts for something...

Untouchable, nicely done on the Cubs thread. Definitely necessary. I however think that they have gotten rid of their unlikeable players and at this point are a pretty likeable bunch. I must make myself remain optimistic at this point.

If you're going to post pictures of Sammy Sosa getting his ass pegged in the head, then you're more than welcome to post here Kasko :-)

I never really liked him, as I always thought he was wildly inconsistent.[/i]

Don't forget the depressing downward (although not so steep) spiral of Mark Prior.

for some reason i still have hope for him. and i don't think many cub fans still support sosa, so those pictures don't bother me at all.

On the other hand, it made for a great joke in the Family Guy movie.
bosux191820042090: what kills more is that now more than ever the team needs him[A-Rod] to put it on his back, and he can't...i hate to say this, but if given a choice i would rather have ortiz on my team any day

I'm throwing this up in the Cubbies thread simply to keep all my hatred in one place.

Sosa would rather retire than 'beg for a spot'

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2328640

May I be the first to say, So long you fucker.

Sammy wants to get to 600 home runs, but he's not willing to humiliate himself to keep playing.

About a season to late on that one, jackass. I keep tossing and turning over this one - whether or not I'd rather see him just go away in the shame that has been the end of his career or comeback with a realistic shot at being just as crappy as last season. Truly a toss-up.

Just like a White Sox fan...team wins a World Series and all he can do is bitch about the Cubs.
