So, the ChiSox have lost 5 straight, including an ignomious 3-game sweep at the hand of the Twins, at home no less, whose offense can best be described as "Bob Dole-level impotence." So, how many games do they last in the playoffs at this point? 3? 4? Do they forfeit after Oakland or Anaheim gets up 2-0?

In fairness, they did face a spectacular Johan Santana last night. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the other team.

P.S.,
I have no idea why I'm sticking up for the White Sox this year.

Losing to Santana isn't that bad. It's letting Kyle Lohse beat you, and allowing the Twins to score 9 runs (although to be fair, they did play 16 innings that night, but the ChiSox did let the Twins score four runs, which is an offensive explosion for this team) is what's terrible. And now, the Twins can possibly make a move in the Wild Card (and I don't think they'll win it, but they can definitely play spoiler.)

I don't know, every team has losing streaks throughout the season. I don't think it's a collapse or anything. They'll be fine.

I think it is a little early to start throwing teams under the bus. The Red Sox just lost a series to the Detroit Tigers and the A's just got swept at home by the Orioles and have lost 5 in a row (after winning 40 of the last 50). Teams are allowed to have a bad patch of games.

Can we at least throw the Yankees and Royals under the bus? Please? And yes, I am bitter that my Twins have fucked up for long enough to be completely out of contention.

We can always throw the Yankees under the bus. The Royals, however, don't need any help in that department.

That bus just keeps backing up and running over the poor Royals over and over.

And how is 4 games out of the wild card "completely out of contention?"

Also, I firmly believe that the White Sox will win no more than one playoff game.

I wouldn't say the Royals need to be thrown under the bus. I look at them as Woodrow, they already live in the sewer, so technically they are always under the bus.

The Royals are so far below .500, they can't even see the ground, never mind the bus.

I'd like to see a pair of boobs that would prompt me to write home. Maybe Scarlett Johannson level quality? "Dear Mom and Dad, I saw an awesome rack today. They were perfect. Everything else is fine. Love, BD79."

Wolfie, with our pop-gun offense, I don't see us overtaking Oakland, Cleveland, and New York, unless we start winning 1-0 games. That's about our only hope.

I don't see it happening either, but I definitely wouldn't say they're completely out of contention.

How many games you got left against Kansas City?

Ya know, I hadn't even thought of that. I think we have like 10 more games against them. If we can go around .500 against the other teams, and destroy them, we can make the wild card.
