Ok, if this place stays vacant and no one replies, that's ok. It's just a place for me to vent and applaud at their play, and to criticize the announcers.

today's game was very good. Broke the Nationals' 12 win streak finally.

Chacin was streaky as usual, can't keep that slider down like your supposed to(at least according to the crack team of broadcasters over at TSN, but that's a rant for another time). hudson came thru with 2 homers, Wells was doing Wells things, and Batista finished it off with his 14th save.

But the Jays finished 8-10 in interleague play. Just brutal. Ricciardi, do all JAys fans a favour. Get the big Wigs at Rogers to not be so stingy and get a bigger payroll, the jays need a better bullpen. Hitting's fine, but you can't rely on Halladay and Lilly forever.

...this should go in MLB, since the Blue Jays are a baseball team in MLB...

I agree Dooze, but if _'s point is that the game the Blue Jays have been playing lately barely resembles baseball I'd have to concede he has a point.

Hey, they won the world series, once, right? (twice, 1992 & 1993) I just remember Americans being pissed about it.

EDIT:
Holy shit! You are right. Forgot about that.

Wasn't the strike in 1994? That was probably in some way the Blue Jays' fault.

You know there's something wrong with the league when the Jays are winning World Seres'.

Actually I blame that on the Expos. They had the best record in baseball at the time of the strike. I think everyone else sat down to discuss the state of the league and decided, "There's no fucking way in hell we're taking the chance of another goddamn Canadian team winning the World Series. Twice was more than enough." So they went on strike, broke up the Expos in the offseason, and the rest is history.

This also had a lot to do with the Braves' deal with the devil. Since they're contractually obligated to win the NL East every single season, something had to be done to stop the Expos from running away with it, and this was the most logical solution at the time.

Thats probably true. Bobby Cox didn't know what the Dark Lord would do if they actually lost the East.

That strike pissed me off for a long time, I actually stopped watching baseball for a couple years. Until I got into fantasy, I didn't watch any games with regularity for about 3 years.

Also, in an old fantasy league I was a part of.. my big Rival was this guy who could never win the title but was always in the title gam.. I dubbed him, the Asian Bobby Cox/Marv Levy.

He was not amused.
