Interesting. Three or four different people have asked me about that the last couple of days and I've told them all I doubted it would happen.

Now I just saw something where STL wants HOU to pick up part of his salary. So not sure that will fly.

Um, Ludwick goes to SD. Cards get P Jake Westbrook from the Jew Bixbys and a non-prospect from SD.

Guess they really believe in Jon Jay.

Seriously, WTF? This team's biggest problems were middle infield and offense, so naturally they... get rid of Ryan Ludwick? For a pitcher?

Sounds like there is more to the story per one of the beat writers. Hopefully the info will come out later today.

I agree with Bernie:

ETA: I do NOT agree with Jayson Stark, who lists the Cards with his "deadline winners":

http://m.espn.go.com/mlb/story?w=19qyw& ... &topslot=1

But we'll see how it plays out.

Wow, hating the Reds suddenly got a lot easier/more fun. Yadi rules. Fuck Brandon Phillips.

Two games over .500 against the Cubs, Brewers, Astros and Pirates ain't gonna cut it.

This team blows. Which, if recent history is any guide, means they will win the World Series.

Well, the silver lining here is that if this team somehow, miraculously (and by virtue of some epic choke artistry of other teams,) makes it to the playoffs, they will not have to face the fearsome Pirates and Nationals in the postseason.

Granted I haven't been a Cards fan my whole life, but I don't remember a Cards collapse this extreme. Good lord is this team bad. Hard to believe they swept the Reds not that long ago.

I can only imagine how bad the supporting cast will be once they have to pay Pujols $25-30 million/yr.
