I was initially surprised by the Kelvin Benjamin trade, but the rationale behind it makes some sense. His skill set overlaps what Devin Funchess brings to the offense and since KB13 was playing out the final year of his rookie deal the organization didn't want to extend him with another guy having less time on his rookie deal.

I don't think it's an effort to sabotage Cam--they got him additional weapons (McCaffery and Samuel) in the first two rounds of this past draft so I'm not going to fault the front office here. The timing is kind of odd, but let's see what Samuel and Funchess can do now that they're the top two WRs. Getting Olsen back in a few weeks will do more to help Cam than anything else.

Doesn't kelv have one more year on his rookie deal?

Correct--he's got one more year that they exercised as an option. So he's signed for something like $8.5 million for 2018.

Good morning Dr J! Great question! Although I think there's some correlation to KB13's being traded with the offense taking off, I don't think you can make a Ewing Theory claim here until the Panthers get to the NFC championship or even the Superb Owl. Then we'll talk. For now I'm en joying the offense's revival.

Ewing Theory, thome, would seem to apply more if they traded Cam, thome. This seems more of a Nomar Theory, thome

all i know is i saw those 'preferable for the type of offense we want to run' speedy receivers drop every goddamn ball they could. made julio's drop last week look well defended.

You must be talking about Samuel. Or maybe Shepard. They both had stone hands last night. Bersin might be our second best WR. That's troubling.

Shepard dropping that wheel route pass in the 1st quarter got me especially angry. Shula's not gonna draw up fun (perfect) plays like that very often you dick, catch the fucking wide open pass.

Ugh--that one was killer. Basically fell over knocking the ball down.

Oh, and how about Funch with the speed! I didn't know he could run that fast on that one TD.

Flush,

What the funch is up with this Funchess guy? The Panthers traded away all their good receivers and he's being outplayed by Ted Ginn and Christian [Chris Berman voice] "McCaffrey and the Beaver Brown Band." The second guy isn't even a receiver and most people would say that the first guy isn't either.

So, yes I'm mad at Curt, because I'm sure his receiver will fuck up my pretend football playoff run by dropping a four point game on me in the next couple of weeks.

Your fake internet friend,
Goose

P.S. When's your wife due?

And yeah, Sean Lee is a huge difference maker for Dallas.
