I feel like this wasn't given the proper attention. They are moving out of SD because of a stadium deal and will spend the next 3 years in a 30,000 seat stadium! At which point, they will join the Rams as second fiddle in a city that doesn't care about the NFL. And to make sure they don't keep their fans that are an hour away, they will change their name and give up their history.

I feel like it's another mistake by Goodell. The NFL doesn't need big cities to be popular.

I don't think the league and Goodell want the Chargers to move, and are concerned about them going to L.A. since the support for the Rams their has been underwhelming, but everyone likes Spanos so they can't tell him no.

I think the Spanos family wants to move to L.A. to increase their franchise value and sell it in a few years.

I just finished reading that.

At what point do the owners step back and say, "you know what, Goodell is killing our league"? Three potential moves within the span of a year (Rams/Chargers/Raiders) because the NFL basically said "fuck you local people" and moved because cities (smartly) wouldn't bend over and take it up the ass from billionaire owners.

Looking forward to the Panthers leaving Charlotte when Big Cat Jerry's kids take over the team and couldn't care less about keeping the team here.

None of that's Goodell's call or doing, it's the owners'.

What team is going to do worse assuming they both go? Chargers in L.A. or Raiders in Vegas?

Some people were speculating that opposing fans' teams will go for a weekend in Vegas to see their team. I agree that seems likely

Desmond King in the 5th round! People around here were thinking he could slip into the first, but people around here are delusional. Think he's a safety in the NFL, but could be a good one and he can do some things on special teams as well.

Looks like the Chargers will be playing in the MLS Stadium for 3 seasons, and the Rams will be in the LA Coliseum for 3 more years as well:

Headed to see a Chargers game this year. I think that the 30,000 stadium will be a very interesting atmosphere and am excited at the idea that I might have two more years to experience it.

I'd like to check this out myself. I did a game at Qualcomm where we were in the upper corner. It felt like 100 up there and the sun was relentless, after the game we went down to the water and it was high 70s. There's enough money in SD that they could have gotten something done if not the NFL. Look at Del Mar, that place is gorgeous and runs for 4-6 weeks. I still give SD credit for telling them to fuck off.

Anyway, LGB might be the nicest commercial grade airport I've ever flown in and out of. The South Bay beach cities are a great spot to kill a night. I could see a lot of the AFC West teams fans wanting to make a weekend out of this while it lasts.
