I don't think you'll trade him. I think you'll let him sign as an RFA and get a first in return.

The Patriots signing Rex Burkhead is the most Boston thing ever.
It feels so good to be back.

With very little left to accomplish team or personal-wise, this off-season feels like another stab at 19-0. They realize the greatest QB in the sport's history only has X amount of years left, so bring back the key pieces on defense, load up the offense again and revisit the lost 2007 season.

I don't like it. That season was not fun, and that Super Bowl was brutal. The pressure was too much for me to enjoy as a person that enjoys sports. But hey, if this is what they want to do, then I have faith in them and their five championships.

HOWEVA, if we get to Minnesota at 18-0 and face the Giants again, I will be sooooooo nervous!

Or...you do the 18-0 thing and you run into the Falcons again and they pull a Clemson and win la---I can't type that with a straight face.

I do. He could very well be the next franchise QB for a decade, and you cant just give that up for a first round pick and hope Brissett matures rapidly. You've seen what happens in Buffalo, New York, and Miami when you have a bag of doody for a QB. The question is will Jimmy stick around if Brady continues to play at an exceptional level. They can franchise him next year, but it will make very little sense to carry that much salary with two QBs. But that's a decision they don't have to make until next offseason.

I haven't seen enough of him that I'd be comfortable spending a trillion dollars to franchise a backup QB, so hopefully it doesn't come to that next year. But I'm on board with not trading him just to stockpile more picks. While he looks like he's got plenty left in the tank, Brady has to be at least somewhat close to the end. If you're confident the guy you have is a legit replacement option, you don't trade him to roll the dice on someone else in a few years.

I know Tom hasn't had a carb since 2005, but QB's historically fall off a cliff.

There is no way they would keep G as the back up under the franchise tag. They may tag him and trade him. If they do think he is the real deal, it would the ultimate Belichick move to trade Tom to the Texans or something out of nowhere.
