TheWolf wrote:I agree that the spike wasn't the right call. But I don't think it was THAT bad. They were barely in FG range, with a lot of time left. Weren't they looking at like a 56 yarder at that point? Of course you don't want to give Rodgers a chance, but you have to give yourself the best chance to get a score first, and that was far from a sure thing at that moment. Of course they had plenty of time to pick up a few extra yards and the spike was totally unnecessary, so maybe I have no point. But I don't think it was nearly as bad a decision as KC not onside kicking, for example.

The spike made no sense to me. Yards were more important than time at that point and throwing away a down made it look like they were playing for a long field goal, which is never the right call. Never mind the Rodgers miracle at the end. I don't blame the Cowboys for that.

But let's talk about the kickers for a minute. Four 50+ yard FGs made (counting the one they "iced" Crosby on) in the last 93 seconds with the game on the line for both teams. That was pretty impressive.

I think the spike was bad, but I'd have liked to see them run on 3rd down more. If nothing else, GB would have been compelled to take their last timeout there, and Heath's sack would have sent the game to OT (related: how the HELL did Rodgers hold on to thar ball?)

The spike didn't horrify me (though it was a little weird) because I felt like they were still clearly playing for the win at that point, plus at the end of the day Dak is still a rookie. It obviously came back and bit them in the ass, but compared to the Chiefs non-onside kick call, it wasn't god awful.

Jike makes a good point on the Heath sack, he absolutely rocked Rodgers and he somehow held on. Marinelli called a pretty good game overall. Garrett did not.

D'oh - I wish I knew Dak Prescott was starting the Pro Bowl, could have bet big on the under.

Somehow with all the people ditching the Pro Bowl, Dak started and had an even worse team then the regular season Cowboys! Still just as terrible a coach though... I only watched bits and pieces, but why was that doofus Garrett laughing at every play? Doesn't he know he sucks, and that Simpson is projecting a Cowboys trade for Sean Payton?
