This is a decent read: Barnwell projects who are the HOFers currently playing:

Enjoyed, but he goes to the Pro Bowl well way too often. Doesn't pretty much half the league end up in the Pro Bowl by the time all the 'injuries' shake out? First team All Pro seems like a better measure to me.

Guess the part of the article where my blood boiled

Anyway, give it to Moss, Ray, Urlacher, Lynch, Law, and Dawkins or T.O. There's a couple lineman there who should make it too.

Moss played for five teams in his career, including a stint with the New England Patriots, and had eight seasons with at least 1,200 receiving yards.

 I don't even have a comment here. Sorry, Tambo.

Is Moss really a sure-fire HOFer though? He really dogged it with the Titans and Raiders. Those stuffed shirt Peter King writer types won't take to kindly to that. I think He makes it his second time around though.

Makes you think. Also, how many yards receiving does T.O have in that offense with belechick that year? 2,000? 30 TD's?

I think Lewis is the only 100% sure lock. I think Hutchinson will probably get in. The receivers are a crapshoot but I think Moss is the closest to a first ballot guy there is. I'd say 2 of Dawk, Urlacher and TO for my last 2.

If Lynch gets in before Dawkins I'll punch someone.

Why do these voters hate WRs so much? There is no rational explanation for Moss and TO not walking in on their first try.

There are a plethora of them (Bruce was really fucking good and underrated as hell and will likely never get in), they get tied in to the QBs they played with sometimes, and as Flush said, lot of divas amongst them that plays poorly with the old school football types.

Because receiving stats have been pretty easy to come by the last 20 years or so due to the emphasis on pass interference rules. So a guy like Torry Holt who put up ridiculous numbers during this era doesn't even sniff the final round of nominations.

ETA: What BD said. And funny that he referenced Bruce and I referenced Holt.
