ALthough I didn't find this on ESPN, I had to add it. This is a sign of good times to come for Onterrio Smith and the Vikings.

Did TSG write that?
"Isn't it no, baas or something? That's how I read it in a boxing book. It's South African or something."

I've moved it from the Stop Clicking Refresh threads to the NFL threads since it's got nothing to do with a Sports Guy column.

Mike Tice was fired. According to espn.com, no link yet.

Mike Tice's tumultuous tenure in Minnesota is over. The Vikings fired the coach following the team's 34-10 victory over the Bears, according to The Associated Press. The Vikings finished 9-7 this season.

Wow, I'm not surprised he was fired, but I am surprised that they did it so soon after the last game. The team probably wasn't even out of the building yet. At least let the guy go home so he can collect his thoughts and deal with the press another day. Don't get me wrong here: I think Tice deserved to be fired more than any other coach out there, but that doesn't mean I like how the Vikings' ownership handled it.

any guesses as to where Tice will end up?

also, any guesses as to why the Vikes waited until the end of the season to fire Tice, but then didn't have the decency to do more than an hour after the game?

I think we should be allowed to slap in the face anyone who plays the race card inappropriately. It really sets the whole equality movement back worse than anything else.
