So, after a five month weather delay they finally played the provincial soccer championships. The soccer Hindoosiers made the finals. Nice! They lost 3-2 in extra time. Not so nice! Then there was a riot that involved 10 of our kids getting arrested and nine RCMP cars on the scene. Oh shit!

It's all good, though. We've identified all the important basketball players as remaining in the stands during the beatdown on the kid in the flannel shirt.

if im cooking frozen pizza in the oven, how long should i preheat it. box says preheat to 375F but for how long?

the opportunity cost of knowing how to preheat an oven is pretty puny compared to anything else

Effin' rights we are.

I particularly liked how the guy that covers high school sports for the Province (a very proud ND grad), completely whitewashed the brawl and didn't mention it at all in his game story. That's loyalty right there.

Couldn't find a US High School Sports thread. Surprised jd doesn't have one.

Missouri considering adding bass fishing as a varsity sport.

Ed Davis? nice

Did any of them stink and surprised you when they made it?
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.

Dowling, Macklin and Scott surprised me.

Didn't think that Mayo, Moats and Glennon would be as good as they are.

I feel like your Arthur Moats fun fact, while fun, may be incorrect. I seem to remember Favre coming back from that injury near the end of the season and playing some more. i MAY be wrong doe.

Great call. My bad.

Moats was the one that ended Favre's consecutive game streak.

Glennon played on a great team (won 2007 state title) and wasn't asked to do a lot as they ran the ball then worked out of play action. He outdueled sophomore Phillip Sims (Alabama commit) in the semis in one of the best games that I've ever seen. Didn't think that he had the arm strength to play at NFL level.

McAdoo was one of those too-good-to-be-true kids. Perfect grades, went on missionary trips in high school and played the game the "right way". However, he played soft even by private school standards. Got a lot of points by beating guys down the court.

Barber was handcuffed a bit by his team in high school since they were a walk it up the court and set up the halfcourt offense type team, yet they still won a state title in his junior year. Much more of an AAU darling where he could get out in space with speed. Could never shoot from the outside and always got his points driving to the rack. Has some not-so-friendly friends.
