In fairness to __, we're trying to get to 100,000 here. Plus his ass is gonna be red this weekend.

This has "disaster" written all over it. I'm going to go down to the bomb shelter now.

I went skiing for the past few days. The snow was horrendous. Absolutely horrible. The village base was only 47cm. Pathetic.

You Canucks with your metric system...only __, fb, and probably FTT know how much 47cm is.

has anyone been out recently? conditions??

the weather in PA has been unseasonably warm, so i'm hesitant to spend money on ice-skiing, although i'm itching to get out...quite the conundrum

when the weather constantly goes above and below freezing the slopes turn into ice...it's the norm for most mountains in the east

Oh OK, I've dealt with that before. Doesn't exactly feel too good to fall on that stuff either.

i went to camelback mountain(in the poconos)yesterday...pretty good conditions all things considered...they got about 6-7 inches of fresh snow on sunday, and it had been cold all last week

i am seriously out of shape when it comes to using the specialized muscle groups necessary for skiing though...i was cashed out after 5 hours

oh ho ho. ha ha ha HA HA HA HA HA ha ha ha.

aaaaanyhoo, just back from taking rodney jr. skiing for a couple days. first time on skiis in my life. high point of the day was when i took out the back half of the line for the chair lift. good times! i did like it, had a great teacher (turkish guy in his late 40s who lived half his life in the US, so his english is perfect), and want to go back and try it some more.

one of the doofuses working there gave me the scare of my life, though. the farvling and i are getting on the chair, and the boy needs help - he's only 6, it's his second time skiing, and since i'm barely able to stay on the skiis i can't do much for him. so the idiot plops the farvling down in the middle of the seat built for two. i get on, he has to shift over as i'm trying to pull down the bar..... and he falls out. thank god we were were only about 6-7 feet off the ground. i tried to grab him and couldn't, and was then too high up to jump after him. luckily he was ok, didn't cry (way to go, champ!), and one of the workers took him up a couple chairs later. but i almost had a fucking heart attack.

it's funny how the chairlift is probably the most daunting part of the whole prcoess for beginners

went to stowe, vt for thwe week of 2/24...great mountain, great conditions...got a foot of fresh powder while there...mrs sux and myself did the whole slopeside condo thing...the place in which we stayed was wicked nice...it was her first time on skis in 8 years and only the third time ever...i've been skiing since age 2, so i was able to impart some wisdom...by her last run she was schusshing down a mile long run with no falls...only once did she make an unscheduled detour into the trees down an 8 foot embankment, but got up smiling...best part was that she loved it and wants to go back...her muscles were so sore after the first day that she could barely walk though

i definitely challenged myself up there, and sking powder, while fun as hell, is an ass-kicker...i've been to just about every mountain in vermont and stowe/mansfield is easily my favorite...also the tallest in the state
