Tate George's winner has always been underrated, imo. That was a full-court pass into him.

And didn't Laettner have a buzzer beater to knock UConn out the following round? Frank/Orez?

Sure did. It was actually a tougher shot than the Kentucky one.

No Laettner's UConn buzzerbeater was from his Freshman year (1990) to get them into the Final Four

ETA: and no, that's not tougher than the UK one

It was absolutely a tougher shot. Double clutched to keep it from getting blocked. Kentucky was a tougher PLAY, since they had to go length of the court, I will grant.

If we're going tougher shot, then Paige's shot last year was much tougher than Jenkins' shot for the win.

That Bryce Drew one will always be #1 for me. Might be the best designed play of all of them (until maybe last year's Villanova play).

If only Heyward's shot was an inch or two more accurate

Imagine how great the universe would be if that shot hadn't hit the back iron. :(

Crazy that Paige's shot will kind of be forgotten over time. Just a ridiculous play.

I have a new #1. Sorry, Fulsh.

(For the record, Dong, agreed on your 1st and 3rd points completely, and "Pacer" was a beautifully designed play.)

That was a smoke and mirrors Iowa team. They absolutely would have been upset in the next round had they advanced.

As I recall, they'd have gotten the Pittsnogle West Virginia team next round, so I'm inclined to agree.

What made the Drew shot hurt was, had he missed (it Ansu Sesay hit two free throws after Drew had missed a go-ahead 3 already), we'd have been looking at 12-seed Florida St, then Lamar Odom's Rhode Island Rams (a winnable game) followed by a decent but not great Stanford squad in the Elite 8, with a shot at l Kentucky.

I saw an interview with Hayward and he said he knew he missed it as soon as it left his hand.

I agree that Paige's shot was simply amazing. Coach Roy needed some better D to let that shot stand.
