2017 NCAA Tournament

Postby CourtesyFlush » 02 Mar 2017, 14:23

Less than 2 weeks til Selection Sunday, folks.

Turner and CBS revealed the broadcast teams and SURPRISE there's a woman as an analyst.

Debbie Antonelli is a solid choice. She's also a Wolfpack alum. #GoPack

As for the tourney itself--the bubble looks really bad this year. #1 seeds look like Villanova, UNC, Kansas, and most likely Gonzaga. Go ahead and pencil in Gonzaga losing to the 8/9 winner.

You don't think that the winner of the Pac-12 tourney if it is Oregon, UCLA or Arizona snags a #1 seed?

That idiot Lunardi has UCLA as a 3 seed in his latest bracketology. He'll magically move them up to 1 right before the selection show.

I do think the Pac-12 winner (if it's one of the aforementioned 3) has a better resume than Gonzaga for a #1. Two of Gonzaga's top 50 wins are over St Mary's. Give me a break. UCLA's win over Kentucky early in the season should carry a lot of weight if it wins the Pac-12 tournament.

And there's no guarantee UNC remains a #1. I think KU and Nova are pretty much locks at this point.

Florida currently sits at #3 in RPI--where did that come from? Butler is looking like a sleeper pick. Baylor is sliding after some big early wins.

I have to agree with mj. Pac 12 will have a 1 seed, if not 2 or 3. Again, my unofficial rankings based on my viewings are as such:

1. Oregon
2. UCLA
3. Arizona
45. Villanova
55. Rhode Island
131: St Joes
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.

They buttfucked the RPI by not playing any home games until after Christmas (arena renovations). Played "neutral" site games in Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Lakeland etc. Basically had an entire non conference sched of road/neutral games despite only leaving the state once.

Do you think the committee will take that into consideration?

8 game winning streak snapped against Bucky. Fucking Bucky. But 23-8, 4th seed in the Big Ten, Sweet 16 ceiling. Not bad, Richard. Not bad.

I've watched like maybe 32 minutes of them all season. More invested in Arizona.

I am amazed that the Gophers finished this well. I saw them beat Ohio State in a game they should have lost. Did not look good at all.

I think I'm cheering most for Gonzaga's inevitable loss to the 8/9 winner in the second round. That should be fun.

The seven minutes of the Gonzaga vs. somebody WCC conference tourney game I watched last week make me agree with you. It was an incredibly painful thing to watch, this small college basketball. No skills on anybody. Sickening.

Yeah, Madness will always be the greatest thing since one brave woman first said "you know what? I'm gonna put my mouth on it instead," and there's an occasional game here or there that you'll want to catch, but for the most part college basketball is kinda unwatchable.

They keep beating up on the same shitty ass WCC teams every year. St Mary's has an inflated RPI. Remember when they struggled against Southern in the first round as a #1 in 2013? (had to look it up on wiki to confirm the year). Was really hoping they'd be the first #1 to lose to a 16.
