I forgot about a semi-amusing story from this game. While attempting to send this gif to someone about the Iowa-tOSU game:

Image

I accidentally texted it to my friend Mandy. That was awkward. My face was red!

It was probably an exaggeration.

They're nice, fake after having 2 kids but not big.

We won a bowl game! Hooray!

Actually somewhat of an entertaining game. It was a very Iowa-ish win.

Ferentz tied Hayden's record for most wins at Iowa. Said that other than asking his wife to marry him, agreeing to move to Iowa was the best decision he ever made in his life :sniff:

I stopped watching in the 3rd cause im a #realfan. But I agree, it was a pretty entertaining game.

My freshman RB appears to be awesome. I assume either he's actually terrible and his numbers have been inflated by a fuck ton of carries against meh-minus opposition, or he's a legit NFL prospect and we'll destroy every ligament in his body by giving him a fuck ton of carries against meh-minus opposition.

ETA: I have no idea if Iowa is meh-minus and that wasn't directed at them. I assume BC played a lot of bad teams because they won 7 games.

Your freshman RB is the bees knees. I'm gonna hate seeing that dude for at least 2 more seasons.

Good article by Feinstein about Chris Street. kind of amazing that Iowa State honors his jersey number. I have zero recollection of the guy but I’d be interested to hear bd’s taek.

I remember this. It was sad. Definitely being honored because he’s a home grown Iowan. I’ve never been anywhere in the country where a kid from that state going to the state school is as big of a deal as it is in Iowa.
BostonSucksMyBalls - Fri Aug 12, 2016 11:42 am: my disdain for 66 stems from posters saying how great a poster he was. I never saw it. He has never made an interesting post or comment, imo.

Street was also really good and basically your ideal Iowa basketball player that people would rally around. Tough gritty etc. Basically started the line of 6'7/6'8 white dudes that went through him then Jess Settles then Ryan Bowen all the way down to Aaron White. Street was the best of them though, would have actually been a long term NBA player IMO.

They had a monster comeback against MSU in their first game after his death and then beat the Fab 5 in Carver-Hawkeye in their first home game since his death. Definitely the most memorable games I can imagine for Iowa basketball.
