Yeah, on second glance, no way college Hansbrough is playing college Laettner to a draw. That's not happening.

I'd put the 2012 Kentucky team over the 1998 version myself, but that's just me.

I'm assuming this is at a neutral site, but I have to think the 1998 'Cat fans would be somewhat leery about rooting on a negro coach, especially one who replaced someone like Rick Pitino, while the current crop of 'Cat fans area all aboard the Calipari train. Think '12 has the edge, there.

Today's the 25th anniversary of Hank Gathers' death

Would've loved to have seen them go up against UNLV with Gathers as well. I mean, look at this box score without him. Kimble had 42 pts, and LJ/Augmon/Hunt/Anthony each scored over 20.

That team was something to behold. The SEC Rewind I watched last month of the 1990 LSU game was ridiculous.

I got Bo Kimble''s autobiography as a stocking stuffer as a kid, and must have read it 1000 times. Really cool story about how they both went to USC together from Philly, and ended up transferring because they thought George Raveling was a penis.

Huh, I had no idea about that story. Raveling was a penis though.

My favorite parts of the book are when they played LaSale and Lionel Simmons and their game against Gary Payton and Oregon State.

Eh, it'd have probably ended like 145-115. UNLV coasted the last 6-8 minutes (I watched the game on YouTube the other day).

Jesus Christ, you have #1 vs #2 at Barnhill Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Larry Johnson/Stacey Augmon/Anderson Hunt/Greg Anthony vs. Oliver Miller/Todd Day/Lee Mayberry. And the second game on CBS that night? Shaq vs. Laettner at Cameron (Laettner dominated, FTR).

Jike I think you just missed out (fuck I don't actually know how old you are) but 1989-1995 was incredible college basketball.
