Simply....The Best: College Football

Postby DirtDawg » 02 Jan 2007, 10:23

Just like the Simply the Best baseball thread, this thread is to rank and discuss the best players to come from each college's respective programs.

To get the ball rolling......

Ohio State: Archie Griffin
Eddie George
Terry Glenn

Syracuse: Jim Brown
Donovan McNabb (suck on that, BSMB)
Marvin Harrison

I changed the title of this thread to clarify that this particular thread is just for football.

I might do one for college basketball once March rolls around, when the fever is high.

Does this thread take in mind just college career or does the NFL career come in to play? Because Y.A. Tittle is an NFL HOF QB for LSU but he would be beat out by Tommy Hodson for just college achievements.

For sheer college skill and amazing plays, Braylon gets the spot ahead.

Red Grange, Dick Butkus, George Halas... yeah, you have to go back pretty far in football. I think Simeon Rice was pretty good.

The guy in my avatar, I guess. The weird thing about Illinois basketball is I can't really think of one or two players that stand out above the rest, at least in terms of college production. I'm not sure who I would pick from the '89 team. I think Dee was overrated by the media, especially as a PG his senior year, but he's probably the face of the program right now.

Our tennis team won 64 matches in a row and a NC, but I won't bore you with that.
