I'd go after Billy Tubbs. Or Hollis Price.

Hollis Price would be solid. Isnt he like 24?
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.

He can't be much older...I know he graduated in '03.

You sure '03? I thought he was a senior on that 02 team but I could be wrong.

On the other hand... how much swing you guys think Sampson will have in keeping DJ White, Robert Vaden, etc at IU?

No...he was on the '03 team that was dismantled by Syracuse. I remember that because Sampson cried on Hollis's senior night in '03. When TJ Ford kicked his ass in route to a Texas win.

As for the other...I have a gut feeling White and Vaden will be at UAB in the near future.

I am entering this thread only to say that "hoosier coach" may be the worst pun ever. That is all.

I am a Bobby Knight fan who dropped them when Davis took over.

My reaction is this - I'm back baby! Go Hoosiers.

I'm a Mike Davis fan. I hope he goes to UAB and kicks Indiana's ass in the near future.

They replaced their black, no-IU roots coach with a... black... no-IU roots coach.

I don't get your logic.

In fairness, Sampson is merely an Injun. Not a black guy.

I thought he was black? Either way, the two things Davis complained about (whether fair or not) was that Indiana needed someone with roots and that the people of the state would not embrace a minority head coach.

I actually think the black thing has more merit than the IU thing, kasko. Bobby Knight went to Ohio State, for goodness sakes.

I gave Davis a chance when he took over...I felt that he sold his kids out in the papers with quotes like "we'll be better next year because I've got recruits coming."

In general, I felt that he took glory for wins, but placed blame on players for losses.

Kelvin has not shown a history of that. That's my logic. I could give two squirts of piss about "black" and "no IU ties".
