Well, my original (misstated) post DID say head coach or coordinator.

the important thing is we know now that Butch will likely be fired based on this statistical evidence

Ha ha, we'll see.

It's just amazing to me that at roughly 8pm on October 8, we had just completed a miraculous comeback and tied it up with Texas A&M at Kyle Field. We had all the momentum and it appeared we were going to stay undefeated at least one more week and remain in the playoff picture. 23 days later we are 5-3, Butch's seat is getting warmer, and our star running back (who was supposed to break the school rushing record easily this year) is transferring to play tight end somewhere.

Damn. I saw the rumors about Hurd and Kongbo last night and figured it was just nonsense. Tennessee and Carolina have really caused havoc on each other's programs lately.

The Kentucky game becomes huge. Who would have thought Mark Stoops would be in a more stable place than Butch at this point?

In case the Colonel ever comes back, Tennessee fans don't seem to like this Butch Jones character:

there was nothing for USCe to celebrate in that game. it demeaned the entire concept of college football. good shirts though.

Better not let the SIL find out.

No more Butch!

Likely coaching candidates include the usual suspects--Jon Gruden and Chip Kelly.

I can't honestly see either of them ending up in Knoxville. Gruden makes more on tv working part time than he'd make on the sidelines. And Chip Kelly would go to UF or A&M before UT. Maybe someone like Jeff Brohm from Purdue or the Memphis coach make more sense. Schiano would be a disaster.

Anus, thoughts?

Yikes.

I know Frost is the next big thing, but he's probably Florida or Nebraska bound. What other candidates for the leap are there? Herman?

Herman ain't leaving Texas. He knows that state and has his dream job now.

You're right about Frost. I could see him going to UF if they don't go after Mullen. I think someone like Brohm or the Memphis guy--or maybe the Troy guy--that's who UT will go after. Much like NC State basketball (as much as it pains me to say it) their glory days are farther and farther in the rear view mirror.

Turner Gill at Liberty (lol, a black UT coach, ok)
Jason Candle out of Toledo
Rocky Long at SDSU

that's not a great list. Man i would be breathing real hard in the phone call to Willie T.
