Reggie Bush and the Trojans

Portis's touchdowns are down this year youre right (my b), but he's still going over 1500 this year (850 yds in 10 games so far), and he's got 5 tds. 3 against the 49ers but still. 150 points is quality. At any rate, i wouldn't take a fantasy RB in the 1st round that i was unsure about. You get hosed that way. Besides, the real stud is always the guy someone gets in the 7th round. Last year it was Tiki, the year before it was Jamal Lewis, this year i guess it's the Denver guys.

You are right, there are some finds later in the draft.....But if I am sitting at 6 or 7, and the guys I mentioned earlier are sitting there, and Bush is playing with, say, the Packers....I may be inclined to take Bush. That way, Id at least be excited about my pick, rather than doing the usual Deuce or J Lewis, and be bored......

If you picked Jamal Lewis in the 1st round after this year, i'd laugh at you.

Yeah, that would be funny. Whoever takes J Lewis better just pay up front.

If anyone hasn't seen this, check it out. Reggie Bush in high school. Check out the second one titled, "Reggie Bush: It is 619 all the time". Fucking amazing.

It goes without saying that having 2 players from the same high school go #1 in the draft in consecutive years is unprecedented, right?

On the ESPN Motion menu to the right of the screen to "Cingular's All American Player of the Week... Barry Sanders" and you will see one of the college players better than Reggie Bush.

Only 3 players invited to the Heisman Ceremony this year

Not too surprising, I can't imagine giving a top 3 vote to anyone but Leinart, Young, and Bush, but it will seem weird to have fewer players than normal.

Agreed. I never got all the Brady Quinn Heisman talk anyway. Really. Actually I thought Mike Robinson of PSU deserved to be in the Heisman talk more than Quinn.

I honestly don't think I can remember another time when only three guys were at the ceremony....

The real question though???

Will Eric Crouch wear a tie to the festivities? He looked like SUCH a dick last year.

Meant to post this last week, but the MNF crew painting Bush as the victim reminded me.

The reason this turned into a shitstorm was because he took the money/benefits, didn't hire the guy that gave it to him, and wouldn't pay back the money. They filed a lawsuit and all of this came out. He could have made this go away for 300k after he got drafted, but he was too stupid/selfish/arrogant to do it. That's a special kind of dick move. I don't give a shit about the Heisman, but he got off pretty easy for fucking over a lot of people. Everybody forgets this.

he isnt getting off THAT easy. all his old teammates hate him, and he is basically persona non-grata in LA. everyone hates his ass. but yes.. you are correct about the 300k.
